Hombrew I've Played: Subclasses Edition, Part 2(Paladin to Wizard) - An extensive list of over a hundred subclasses I've playtested, what I still allow, and a brief summary of each and my experience with it.

For Homebrew Classes, See This Post.
For Homebrew Subclasses (Part 1), See This Post with Barbarian to Monk.
So I was supposed to post this uh... 16 days ago, so I'll tell you what, you get a 16% discount off what you paid for it. That's right, 16% of $0 so I don't want to hear any complaints.
For my methodology and defense of Homebrew and why I use it, feel free to read the opening of my original posts ) where I go to greater length on the subject... don't had the word count to spare every post. Suffice to say that my experience is that the main problem that faces Homebrew is that it can be exceedingly difficult to sort through the vast selection and find stuff you might actually want to use. My groups and I have playtested hundreds of hours of the content out there, so I'm just trying to share that time and effort with you.
The purpose of this list is to give a brief outline of each thing I've playtested, and give people some guidance if they want to look further into it. I'm not telling you what to allow, just what might be worth taking a look at if it strikes your fancy. I can give a more in-depth thought on anything on the list, just feel free to ask, though I may get overwhelmed with those sort of requests in my limited reddit time and slow typing.

Balance Criteria

Note: What I think is balanced is not guaranteed to be what you think is balanced. Here is the main considerations I have (in order of importance to me):

Rules for inclusion:

Additionally, I weigh overhead against new options - I am fairly tolerant of complicated mechanics or options, but I dislike things that force saves every turn, or allow for excessive rerolling of dice, or introduce floating modifiers. These are all things that unnecessarily slow down combat, and require extra justification for their presence (which is possible, just that the bar is higher).

Paladin

Subclass Creator Description Playtest Feedback I Allow Notes
Oath of Avarice COFSA GenuineBelieverer A Paladin that believes bling is justice. Balanced. It is actually pretty solid, and one of my favorite things from COFSA. I like alternative Paladin Oaths that are unique, and it's unique, and actually pretty balanced. It also does a much better job of having an adaptably flavor that is not tied to lore or strange mechanics. All around solid.
Oath of Anaracy POP BunnygeonMaster A Paladin the believes freedom of movement is a right. Balanced. It mostly just gives a lot of tools for moving about. Limitless power has a line that might break your game about ignoring creature's immunity, so you may want to play your BBEG accordingly or tweak that feature, but that's 20th level.
Oath of the Grim Hunt SethBlackwood A Paladin with a Warlock's amount of edge. Somewhat too much. d12 smites with rerolls, even as your channel divinity, is a lot in practice; we are talking a first level slot for 3d12 with rerolls vs. a Fiend or something. X I think this is probably the Paladin where I started adopting the principle to stop playtesting Paladins that have a feature that reads, essentially, "Smite harder", as that is really the last thing Paladins need in life even if it is what they end to want.
Oath of the Midnight Hour the_singular_anyone(walrock) A Paladin that stalks the night and shanks their foes. Mostly balanced. I find Shadowblade to be a bit much early on, especially due to it's fairly high chance to interact with criticals. I allow it because I want a Paladin that is like this, but I would like it better if Shadowblade wasn't as strong (or was at least harder to use). I may nerf that feature if someone wanted to play it in a campaign again.
Oath of Power POP BunnygeonMaster A Paladin that is a superhero. It is a little too meme-like for me, but mechanically balanced. X I should have been more suspecious of anything that has an anime quote, but I didn't recognize such things on first pass. Your mileage will vary based on the tone of your game.
Oath of Sanity KibblesTasty A blantantly misnamed Oath for making an insane Paladin. Balanced, if perhaps on the somewhat more specific/undertuned side. This oath bats way over par in making characters that very entertaining. It's like if a Call of Cthulu investigator found their way into D&D but still had their old insticts that everything was going to kill them.
Oath of Zeal CaelReader A Paladin that thinks Vengeance Paladins are soft on heretics. Giving Paladins more smite can be a little over the top. X I'm not sure giving up 10 points of lay on hands is overpowered, but it did feel imbalanced (as in just not in balance), in that it turned the Paladin into a very one note thing (more smites, all the time, which I believe is the intention of it). I also think Stern Gaze should probably just be intimidation, as it makes little sense for Persuasion checks.

Ranger*

Subclass Creator Description Playtest Feedback I Allow Notes
Beast Master (Revised) KibblesTasty Be more than just a graveyard manager for your menagrie of dead pets. A functional beastmaster. Balanced. A good balance between "your pet cannot attack" and "you have two actions" WotC has struggled a lot with pet classes, but I find it a good balance. Your pet can occasionally attack and frequently help you out.
Dragon Apprentice Ranger TheArenaGuy For when being raised by wolves just doesn't cut it. A ranger themed around emulating a dragon. Balanced, generally fits the Ranger template well, even if that template is kicking you right in the bonus actions. Some players are disappointed they don't get a dragon till 15th level. I don't use the cosmic dragons, so cannot speak to anything related to them here, but the rest should be fine.
Shooting Star ATLAS aeyana A Ranger that shoots for the stars (cosmic ranger). Balanced. It's fine, and generally obeys the Ranger rule that your bonus action will be a cluterfuck. I find their resource system (motes) sort of a pain in the ass and they generally have too much of it, but it's mostly fine.
Witch Hunter YAG Yorviing A Ranger that hunters Witches... and potentially other spell casters too. More or less balanced, but somewhat too specialized. If there aren't Witches to hunt, their feature pool is a little shallow. It's generally okay, though I may warn against it for a new player that may overestimate how many spell casting enemies they will fight (and I tend to run more than usual).
Witchguard RSquared A Ranger that fights off the Witch Hunters (above)... Bond with a spell caster and protect them. It is overpowered in a way, but I still allow it. It really comes down to how worried you are about a Ranger being somewhat too good at being a team player. It is overpowered in the sense that it is too strong when compared to what a Ranger subclass should be, but I don't find that it does it in a way that causes issues in my game. Your mileage may vary. Sort of requires buy in from another player, so a little unusual that way.

Rogue

Subclass Creator Description Playtest Feedback I Allow Notes
Acrobat Mage Hand Press Tumble and leap your way to victory. As written, Parting Toss makes no sense. If it is balanced depends on how you modify that feature. RAW, Parting Toss does nothing. If you read it to mean it's a free action, it's busted. I replaced that feature entirely.
Assassin(Revised) KibblesTasty Gives assassin new ways of dealing death. Balanced. The original assassin does one thing very well, this does a few things pretty well. Some will miss the old Assassinate, but it rarely played nice with a party, and we could go weeks without getting a single use of it, while this has a good mix of solo assassination and party play.
The Brotherhood Mage Hand Press Assassin's creed rogue. Partially balanced. Death From Above has a reasonable drawback until 13th level, and there it costs your reaction, so isn't too bad. Goes from near useless to very strong depending on how much vertical space is on your battlemaps.
Divine Agent KibblesTasty The black ops wing of any organized crime religion. Balanced, perhaps a little undertuned due to how late rogue subclass features come in. A Divine Rogue that isn't a 1/3 caster, but has limited casting from their features. Would prefer a little early casting.
Ruffian Jaekbad A Rogue that fights dirty dirter than usual. Balanced. The general idea is well implemented and works well, none of the features are crazy. The rare pleasent example of something on the /UA curated list that belongs there. Quite like the idea and its a unique take on a Rogue subclass while still being archetypically a rogue. Should be noted it doesn't specialize in strength (though can technically use it) despite the name.
Surgeon KibblesTasty A walking revoked medical license. Balanced. It provides a good balance of support and rogue template features. I run the Intelligence variant, as I prefer my surgeons to be smart rather than cunning.
Shinobi Mage Hand Press The ninja rogue everyone wants to be. Balanced, their ki is pretty limited and does reasonable things for the most part. I make Kaginawa part of Cunning Action rather than a free action; your mileage will vary based on how vertical your maps tend to be.
Spidertouched COFSA GenuineBelieverer A Spider themed rogue that shoots webs and poisons things. Balanced, if a little strong in the hands of a clever player, particularly when combined with CBE. There is a semi common synergy between nets and CBE, and this sort of amplifies that. In fact, it makes nets incredibly strong in general. It also scales extremely well with haste. They are limited in their special net requiring a bonus action (which conflicts with CBE), which is sort of its saving grace.

Sorcerer*

Subclass Creator Description Playtest Feedback I Allow Notes
Ashen Lineage COFSA GenuineBelieverer The kid of an Ashen Wolf Warlock. Balanced, more or less. The first level feature is mostly useless - produce flame mostly a worse firebolt, the claws are niche. It's okay, but some players were a little frustrated that it doesn't quite seem to do what it wants to do. It is hard to effectively actually use the Born of Ember feature, as Sorcerers are not natural gishes, and if you multiclass, you'd probably to actually attack for scaling reasons... it's like the Ashen Wolf Warlock, but lacks the invocations to make it actually work.
Aether Heart KibblesTasty A Sorcerer's whose true power is that of their heart. Because it's a magical power source. Balanced, if slightly undertuned at lower levels. It is sort of metamagic specialist, which I think is a good niche for a Sorcerer subclass, but doesn't quite go far enough and I already give extra metamagic.
Deathtouched DarkArts Jonoman3000 A Sorcerer that gets the power from a connection with death Balanced, generally powerful if dim light is commonly available, but may suffer a bit if your party likes it light sources. It doesn't have a bonus spell list, so I give it one, which sort of conflicts with the 6th level feature as there's just not that many necromany spells to go around, but it works out.
Imperial Birthright IrishBandit A Sorcerer with the bluest of blood that commands things. Mostly balanced. The 18th level feature is a little much relative to other Sorcerer 18th level features. I still allow it for specail cases, but have mostly retired it to just use Noble Warlord as that's usually a better for what my players are looking for, but they are different concepts.
Nymph Bloodline Mage Hand Press An alluring Sorcerer that specializes in charming. Not even vaguely balanced. Not suitable for most games. X Almost every feature is ill advised, but bypassing immunity to charm and bypassing legendary resistance and removing the drawbacks of charm magic is a combination that is guarenteed to a derail any game. Do not recommend.
Pheonix Spark(Revised) ElementalOrigins KibblesTasty A revision of the pheonix Sorcerer, a Sorcerer all about bursting into flames. Mostly balanced, and pretty good at feeling like the theme. When I playtested it the cap on restored hit points wasn't there and it was a bit much, but I see it's been updated. I used the UA version up until switching to this reversion recently, as pheonix sorcerers are popular in my groups (all of those UA elemental sorcerers are)
Seasonal TheArenaGuy If 5e Eladrin was a Sorcerer subclass. Balanced, if perhaps somewhat undertuned overall. X It's first level feature is to give you spells, which is cool, but I already give that to all Sorcerers, so it doesn't offer them enough. Conflict of Homebrew. Summer and Spring are also almost always better than Autumn or Winter.
Sea Soul (Revised) ElementalOrigins KibblesTasty A revision of the Sea Sorcerer from UA. Balanced, though a I felt it was a bit finicky at times. I have always struggled with the theme of this one as I feel its a little too close to Storm (both in the UA and this revision) but people want to play it, so I allow it. It's fine... this is a little more polished and balanced than the UA version was, but I allowed that one previously.
Stoneheart (Revised) ElementalOrigins KibblesTasty Kibbles' version of Stone Sorcerer, a more gish like Sorcerer. Balanced. It does not make the Sorcerer suddenly a tank, but gives them an interesting playstyle I like this one a good bit more than the UA version, it's power set is a little more grounded and coherent, while still making the Sorcerer a more viable gish-like thing. Has been quite popular. I did eventually drop the UA Stone Sorcerer awhile ago, so this was a good replacement.

Warlock

Subclass Creator Description Playtest Feedback I Allow Notes
The Acursed Archive COFSA GenuineBelieverer The world's evilest librarians. I had a big issue their ability to essentially planeshift 10 people into the library as an action. X I don't know if I would call it broken, but your mileage will vary. Read tainted knowledge carefully and decide how comfortable you are with that feature being abused. It's in some ways a better time stop at level 1. You and whole whole party can precast any non concentration spells you want (fire shield, mirror image, sanctuary, there's actually quite a few and trust me munchkins will find them)... and there is little hundreds more little things (non-healing potions, etc).
The Ashen Wolf COFSA GenuineBelieverer Warlock who made a pact with fire doggo. It's not really stronger than hexblade most of the time. Feels pretty geared toward Pact of the Blade though, and very invocation hungry. The 14th level feature isn't really balanced, but is also one of the few class features I've seen kill its player (and this happened in fact twice) due to the exhaustion backlash. I generally don't like features that give players more power in exchange for killing themselves. Depending on how you rule exhaustion and death, there are additional problems (if death removes all exhaustion, that can be exploited, if it doesn't, this subclass can permanently kill you).
The Archlich DarkArts Jonoman3000 A Warlock that made a deal with an Archlich. Somewhat subpar. The 1st level feature requires concentration, which will generally always be a deal breaker for a Warlock as they are so dependent on concentration. X The 6th level feature depends on the 1st level feature, which requires concentration, meaning if you use any Warlock spell like Hex or Darkness, you essentially have no subclass features until 10.
The Archmage Mage Hand Press An apprentice that's taken a massive short cut to the whole being a Wizard thing. Balanced, perhaps somewhat undertuned. Arcane Storage is better at some levels than others, but Ubreakable Spell and Spell Resistance are quite good.
The Blackthorn Grove COFSA GenuineBelieverer A warlock with an evil plant for a heart. Balanced? It's fine... the 1st level feature is niche, and the 6th level feature is strangely only really applicable to Pact of the Blade. The 6th level feature only really making sense for Pact of the Blade is sort of a problem, as generally speaking other Warlocks don't really want to hold a ranged weapon all the time (the only option that'd make sense for them to use that feature with).
The Blind Justicar COFSA GenuineBelieverer A Warlock that made a deal with a Warrior Saint to become a Paladin. I don't know what the math on the 1st level feature was supposed to be, but in my experience it doesn't really work out. X The first level feature lets you replace 2d20 with 3d12 drop the lowest, but best I can tell this makes you virtually always hit (or save, but you rarely have advantage on saves, while you usually have advantage on attacks). I'm not a deep math guy, so perhaps it was just absurd luck on the playtest, but 3d12 drop 1 does not seem like a reasonable way to roll attacks in my testing against fairly standard ACs (14-18).
The Currency Conspiracy COFSA GenuineBelieverer A typical merchant. Balanced, but more focused on social pillar and exploitation than combat. It's not necessarily suitable for all games, and depending on your intrepretation of the lore may be exclusively evil due to it's habit turning parts of people's souls into cash-money and all of its class features depending on doing so.
The Divine Beast TheArenaGuy Pact of the Beast Master More or less balanced. Due to the ability to resummon it with a pact slot, it tended to be an unlimited pool of hit points; there is a limiter based on time, but I never saw that really matter. You can fix this just by not attacking it, but your mileage will vary based on how run monster intelligence. X It is to Pact of the Chain what Hexblade is Pact of the Blade in a way that it's a subclass clearly designed for one Pact to fix that play style, and is just a little weird for other Pacts.
The Dreamer Mage Hand Press A Warlock for manipulating sleep and dreams. Has issues. Doubling the power of sleep at level 1 is truly broken. Sleep is a spell that has to fall off due to how powerful it can be. X Their School of Sonomancy Wizard does the same thing, and isn't on the list as I passed on it after trying this one. Doubling sleep's hit points at level 1-3 is ridiculous and will auto end most low level fights.
The Gelantinous Convocation COFSA GenuineBelieverer Befriend cheerful slimes. Balanced, though somewhat geared less toward combat. Their first level feature can make a murder mystery really boring, so read it before it allow it and decide if it'll work for the sort of game you run (allows you to eat a corpse and know what it knew once a day)
The Knowledge Keeper KibblesTasty A Warlock the knows everything there is to know. Your mileage may vary. Trades combat effectiveness for extreme utility. This one is very open ended, and I'm not sure I'd recommend it to anyone beside a veteran player. It's extremely flexible, but kept largely in check by Warlocks very limited slots.
The Lady of the Lake Xenoezen A Warlock that got their power from some aquatic ceremony with a watery tart. Mostly Balanced. It's generally balanced on its own. It is generally more balanced than Hexblade when it comes to Paladin multiclassing with it, though with less thematic dissonance. But if you don't allow Hexblade, don't allow this.
The Nebula ATLAS aeyana A very sparkly Warlock. Shimmering Cloud has an strange interaction with Armor of Agathys that is somewhere between nonfunctional and problematic. X You may read Armor of Agathys differnetly than I do and not count attacks that hit the Shimmer Cloud as proc'ing its damage, in which case you might be fine, but this is a lot if you don't (imagine a 3rd level AoA; each hit deals 15 to the attacker, but they have to deal 30 damage to break the shield, taking 15 damage each time they hit you); note them hitting the cloud procing AoA is probably not RAW though how I've always run abilities like that, so your mileage may vary.
The Saint Yorviing A Warlock blessed by a saint-like figure. Balanced. It's fine, though depends on how you do short rests you may be wary of Prayer of Healing on the Warlock list. The PDF is not the easiest thing to read, though that might just be an issue on my side due its non-standard formatting.
The Tempest KibblesTasty A Warlock that builds a storm around them. Balanced, though deals substantial mini-area of effect damage, making it highly effective sometimes. I like how the storm building mechanic extends the Warlocks effective power by making something out of it's limited uses of Pact Magic and giving it a bit more utility.
The Wild Hunt COFSA GenuineBelieverer The Warlock who made a pact with the bad guys from the Witcher Not balanced. Like many COFSA Warlocks it really depends on how you build it, but it gives a combination of things that can be really annoying to deal with, though seems pretty focused on Pact of the Blade. X Slayer's Armory is a little crazy as it makes Hunter's Mark add 2d6 damage, which when combined with a high hit-high attack build (like CBE) deals fairly ridiculous damage, and with Find Steed you can manipulate the hell out of range making them very difficult to deal with. Slayer's Armory technically does not scale with magic weapons, but that's not a great solution.

Wizard

Subclass Creator Description Playtest Feedback I Allow Notes
Generalist YAG Yorviing A Wizard that majored in GEs at Wizard school. More balanced than most generalist Wizards. It's no loremaster. I find Regenerative reservoir a bit much over the course of a day given how useful 1st level spell slots are, and how very powerful this is as you get later in the game, but this is largely a side effect of long adventuring days, so your mileage may vary.
School of Arithmetick Mage Hand Press A Wizard that's based on being good at math... ...but requires a DM bad at math to allow it. No comment and lesson learned. Not particulary balanced. X This whole subclass is pretty nonstandard. Accrual alone would disqualify from consideration for most people. As to what is broken, it's mostly using stats with Factorize, as a whole group of monsters will have the same value for a stat, and savvy player will know what that stat is often allowing somewhat absurd things.
School of Astronomy ATLAS aeyana A Wizard that's power comes from the alignment of the stars. Balanced, while the stars give you some flexibility (and some early damage) it's not generally too much. I read Spell Stars as that you still have to be able to see the target and you cannot see through the spell stars, so you still need line of sight. If you make different assumptions, balance might be different.
School of Blue Magic YAG Yorviing A Wizard based around stealing and copying their enemies spells. It's more or less balance, but completely dependent on your party and what you fight. X I don't have any real objection to it, but players generally didn't think it was what they thought of as a Blue Mage, but I don't really know enough the source material of the idea to comment there.
School of Hemomancy DarkArts Jonoman3000 A Wizard that specializes in the blood magic provided by the supplement. More or less balanced itself, but depends on the Hemomancy spell list, so your mileage may vary there. X I used it while I used those spells, but as I no longer use those spells, this wouldn't really work out as it's completely tied to those spells.
School of Innovation KibblesTasty A Wizard that lets you make your own spells. It's a good effort at balancing a ridiculous idea. X It's a good bit of fun, and I think could be used, but as with anything this open ended, some user caution is recommended. I do use it as a template for player created spells though.
School of Pathology KibblesTasty A current events Wizard. Somewhere between a plague doctor and a plague maker Mostly balanced. It will somewhat depend on the power and frequently of diseases in your game for their 14th level feature, but wasn't an issue for me. I am not personally a big fan of the spell contagion, I like the spell in principle, but it's in an awkward spot of being effectively "save three times or die". That's a gripe with the spell though, not this subclass.

Honorable Mentions

Compendiums & Sources

I've added a brief tag for how much content from compendiums I use for clarity. Limited generally means I don't use the spells or additional options, and may exclude up to half the character options. Most means I tend to use most of it. Some means I use less than limited, and it's usually case by case basis.
Please don't construe anything I say as saying that anything isn't worth anyone's time. Not all stuff works for me, but if it is on this list, I at least read it and thought it had some merit, and it probably would work fine for someone's game, even if it may have some balance issues. My balance issues might now by your (or the creator's) balance issues, you might just not care about balance issues. This is just my list that I am sharing because it might help people sort through the sea of stuff out there, and particularly if they find my balance criteria similar to theirs be extremely helpful.
*Ranger Footnote: I currently use the UA Class Variants Ranger with some exceptions. I use the Beastmaster from above, and I require the replacement options are taken in order (i.e. Tireless cannot be taken at level 1 for obvious reasons).
*Sorcerer Footnote: As discussed in my Classes post, I partially use the Sorcerer, Tweaked, but as I don't actually use most of those subclasses, I might be better to say I use the Sorcerer with Expanded Spell Lists, an extra metamagic, and no need for an arcane focus.

Next Steps

What would you like to see next in Homebrew I've Played? Races? Feats? Mechanics? Leave your suggestion and vote below if you'd like to see another part to the series with what you'd like to see, and if you'd like to be notified when the next part goes up.
I also have some updates on my classes post, so I may like do a list up every six months or year or so if people are interesting in that. I have gotten a lot of new subclasses since I started posting these as well, so there will be quite a bit of new stuff playtested in the future.

Cheap GME calls for a potential lottery win

Cheap GME calls for a potential lottery win
Gonna keep this short and simple.
There's some funky things going on with Gamestop (GME), a.k.a. the blockbuster of video games.
  1. Short fee > 30% and rising
  2. Short availability <200K shares and falling
  3. The selloff the last week in GME was largely correlated with overall market selloff. IF there's a rebound this week, possible to see rebound in GME as well.
If the stock pops any more than it did today, there may be a lot of people rushing to cover their very expensive shorts.
Positions:
9/18 GME 6c, 7c, 7.5c, 8c
Update: Adding to positions on dips. https://imgur.com/a/oKTV4ZV
Update 2: Party is getting started. Up 50% in 2 hours. Jump on before it's too late!
Update 3: Ended day up 72%. Still holding, still going up AH.
Update 4: The short fee has increased to >38%, with 0 shares available to short. GME is over 100% shorted now!
Update 5: The short fee is now over 50%.
Update 6: Been adding to my positions on dips, but there haven't been many today. Haven't sold any thing yet. Up to 118 contracts. Current positions:
Update 7: Still holding/adding. Short fee now at 64%. I'm speculating, but imagine paying 64% annual interest to short the stock while it goes up 30% in 2 days.
Update 8: Buying every dip (major red candle at 2:30 on 9/17)
Update 9: Hope you are buying these dips!
Update 10: here's what I'm sitting on RH. https://imgur.com/a/WCjYRgc Most positions are 9/18 calls. Also have about 4K shares and another 70 contracts in IBKR. Largest single position in terms of qty is 9/18 10c - about 80 contracts in that strike. Haven't sold any calls (ITM or OTM) yet.
Update 11: Day of reckoning for my 9/18 holdings. Still holding as of 7:00 a.m.
Update 12: Still holding. Added more 9cs when they went to .2 on the dip. Anyone who wants FDs - 9/18's 9cs are trading at intrinsic value.
Update 13: I hope you're still holding!!
Update 14: https://fintel.io/ss/us/gme <- More than 10M new shorts in the last 2 trading days, at >50% interest rates, while GME only goes up. I hope you're holding. ITMs or just OTM for 9/25, 10/16, etc. are good on any dips. or just get shares.
Update 15: Like I said in update 8, buy the 2:30 dip.
Update 16: Fuck RH. They auto-sold my ITM calls. Bought back in on IBKR.
Update 17: Final update for the week. Up $24K on calls/shares, but a lot of OTM calls expired worthless. Hope you did well. I'm going into the weekend holding $65K worth of shares and about $8K worth of 9/25 calls - at strike prices from 6, 7, 7.5, 8, 9, 10, 11. Not going further up than that for now. Lost a good chunk of profits from not knowing RH's auto-sell process (first month using RH).
Update 18. Still holding / rolling. Buy major dips in the morning. 9/25 10cs were 0.49 the morning of Wed.
Update 19 Got out of most of my positions here. Hope you timed things better than me. At my peak I was up $30k, getting out with a net of $15k.
Update 9/29 currently holding 4500 shares (added 1500 over the last 24 hours) and a few 9/25 calls. Gradually increasing shares on dips

Be extremely cautious while trading option spreads on Robinhood

Be extremely cautious while trading option spreads on Robinhood
TL:DR: - Due to RH's bug of settling an early assignment with an exercise the next day, you will effectively lose any buying power until the end of the next trading day. You will not be able to close your position by increasing the limit price more than the max loss/spread width.
- If holding a spread through expiry and it is ITM (both legs), if RH is unable to close the position due to less liquid option market and you don't have enough buying power to exercise ALL OF THE LONG LEGS, it will end up blowing up your account (multiple times of the spread's max loss) as your short legs will all get exercised and your long legs will not be exercised despite being ITM. This is specially applicable in case of debit spreads (which incurs max profit if expiring in the money).
*****
Apologies for the long post, but I urge anyone who is considering trading spreads or is actively doing so on Robinhood, to give this a read, as you may be caught off guard with this terrifying bug that could wreck your finances. To my fellow autists who don't know what spreads are, and only buy FDs, you may give this a pass.
The past few days has been an emotional roller coaster, to say the least. But luckily I managed to get out of the dumpster fire relatively unscathed (albeit with a loss of $6k, which I am solely responsible for). I will give you a brief overview of what happened without going too much into the details:
- Opened up a 14DTE position of a bear call (credit) spread, with 100 contracts, credit of 4k, max loss of 6k. Won't go into details, but to give a brief idea, underlying was a company that looked to be doomed at that with fraud allegations on the company and the CEO, and the CEO had to resign. Strikes were opened significantly OTM so the risk seemed very less.
- Within a couple of days, despite a slew of bad news and media coverage, the underlying went up like crazy. Nobody in their rational mind could understand why. I guess that's the risk that I had ignored (trading a meme stock that has a mind of it's own). Long story short, 4DTE, my spread was deep in the money (like 70-80 delta). I still didn't close my position at a loss because I thought this was merely a short squeeze and would end soon. Oh boy, was I so wrong.
- At the end of the day, I had been assigned 1/100 contracts. I have been trading spreads for some time now, and usually close early with a profit or loss. This is the first time I had gotten assigned (like ever). I thought that RH would exercise one of my long legs in response, but it didn't. Instead, I manually queued up an exercise for the next day as it was after hours. This assignment led to a short position of around 3k, and I had enough buying power to cover it, so it didn't lead to an account deficit or margin call.
- Next day 3 DTE, my exercise went through.Tried closing my position at 95% max loss. Order didn't get filled. Fortunately, didn't get assigned after hours.
- Next day, 2DTE, I decided I had had enough and opened a buy to close order for max loss. My order was only partially filled, with only 10/99 contracts closed. After hours, I was assigned 65 contracts (out of the remaining 89). This time, it was a margin call of 200k+. I didn't have buying power to cover it. RH didn't exercise my long legs this time either. I was super anxious and mailed RH support regarding this issue. This looked eerily similar to the Alexander Kearns story. Anyways, queued up an exercise for the 65 contracts to cover the margin call.
- Next day, 1 DTE, exercise went through. I held 24 positions. Seemed like the options were very illequid as even my max loss buy to close wasn't going through. I tried entering a higher limit price (more than the max loss), but RH wouldn't let me. Later I got to know from the support (who took until the end of the next trading day to get back), who confirmed that this is indeed a bug with Robinhood where your buying power isn't restored even if you cover your margin call until the next trading day. After hours, i got assigned another 10 contracts. Another margin call. As expected, no auto exercise from RH again. Margin called again. Queued up another exercise for 10 contracts.
- Expiry day. With 14 contracts remaining and the margin call covered, I put 2 and 2 together that if I couldn't close my position by EOD, I would end up losing more than the max loss because RH wouldn't exercise my contracts due to the lack of buying power, despite it being way ITM. So essentially, my long leg would expire worthless, and because my short strike being around $7 ITM, I would end up losing $7*1400 = $9800 (if I had to cover my short position after the weekend, assuming the stock opened at the same price). Thats a total loss of $15800 if you take the loss of the spread into account. Tried to close at max loss again, order won't go through after multiple hours. Tried increasing limit price, RH wouldn't let me due to the bug described above. Frantically tried contacting the support over twitteemail, but no one reached out. I had RH gold, but didn't enable margin. Turned it on, and surpisingly, my margin was shown negative (lol, what's even the point of this app when it's all bugs).
This is how it looked like:

https://preview.redd.it/bf6w19ux8ks51.jpg?width=606&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2d61248d1febbca903b18460137b97e5bccbb09a
Finally, as a last ditch effort, I liquidated about 90% of my portfolio to cover for an exercise of my 14 remaining long positions. Shitty thing to do, but had to be done. EOD, the 14 short positions were exercised. I was relieved that this ordeal was over.
Lessons learnt:
- I'm done with RH. With such a shitty support, if anything goes wrong, you are left with your d**k in your hand. Other platforms may not be free but it is well worth the peace of mind. I'm considering between TDA/Fidelity, any suggestions are welcome.
- Don't trade meme stocks. It's literally murphy's law with those.
- Close your spreads early, regardless of a potential loss. Always remember that "Markets can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent". I had to learn this the hard way.
Thanks and Good luck!

The Leper from Darkest Dungeon, and how he would be in For Honor

The Leper from Darkest Dungeon, and how he would be in For Honor
Hello, and welcome to a very, and I mean very long post (and my first, sorry if I messed something up) about something that will probably never happen, but deserved to be considered, at least for fun.

After playing a lot of both games and absolutely loving them, I started to wonder how it might be if you tried to mix the two to try and make something "original" (and totally not taking something that already exists in one game and adapt it to the other).

If you're here because you saw the word "Leper" in the title and you played Darkest Dungeon, you might know what this is about, if not let me introduce to you the world of horror and frustration (and sometimes pure satisfaction) that this character comes from.

Also, I just saw after finishing this never ending post that the rule 5 mentions "Keep posts strictly For Honor related", I hope it counts as strictly For honor related then...

This character proposition will have 3 parts :
- The first one being an introduction to the character : where he comes from, its backstory and how he could be implemented in For Honor.
- The second one being his stats, the potential moves / specific assets from this character, how those moves are adapted from Darkest Dungeon, his feats and the possible issues that don't have a good solution (yet, this is where you come in).
- Finally, the third (and shortest since I have no imagination) is the cosmetic choices for the Leper and what would be cool to have that could bring the Darkest dungeon vibe in For Honor.

If you wish to have information about how the Leper is in Darkest Dungeon, here's his wiki page ( BUT BE CAREFUL, THERE IS SPOILERS YOU WANT TO AVOID IF YOU INTEND TO PLAY THE GAME! ) : https://darkestdungeon.gamepedia.com/Leper

Please keep in mind that English is not my first language, so excuse me if there is any typo or mistake in the text.

This post and its contents may not be uploaded on any website, except if I give you direct permission. (I spent so long on this, I'd be quite mad if someone just took it and got all the praise)
This post is not an official Red Hook Studios product, and Red Hook Studios Inc. is not responsible in any way for anything this post might do.
Furthermore, “Darkest Dungeon”, "The Leper", every image used and the Darkest Dungeon logo are trademarks of Red Hook Studios Inc. All content in Darkest Dungeon is Copyright Red Hook Studios Inc. All rights reserved.
(I don't know if that was mandatory but I'd rather not take the risk after spending the equivalent of 9-10 hours writing this)

And so, this is where the fun begins.

Part 1 : Introduction

Let's start by explaining to those who might not know, what Darkest Dungeon is.
Here is the game intro cinematic, if you want to take a look : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRh_mlAwxTI

Darkest dungeon is a turn-based game made by Red Hook studio where you, the player, receive a letter from your Ancestor, warning you about disastrous events that brought ruin to your family. You begin your trip to the Hamlet from where can be seen a manor, destroyed and emanating a curious and unsettling aura of impending doom.
Unfortunately, before you could even reach the Hamlet, the Caretaker that drives your stagecoach is starting to become more and more affected by the surroundings and in his madness, crashes you and the stagecoach in the forest.
Escorted by a crusader and a highwayman, you weed out bandits blocking your path and safely arrive to the Hamlet. The atmosphere reeks of madness and you know that the people you will send to reclaim what is yours will be tested physically, but also mentally, sometimes to death.
Then begins your quest to seek and destroy the evil that turned the once peaceful place in a ghost town, only to unveil what truly lies deep underground... In the Darkest Dungeon.

And this is where the Leper comes in. As the word is spread that the rightful heir is taking back it's place and seeking to bring back peace in this country, more and more adventurers come in search of fame, glory and gold. One day, a man shows himself wearing a bronze armor, a mask, carrying a massive, but broken executioner sword, words filled with poetry and bandages covering all his body. He calls himself "The Leper" and swears loyalty to the Heir.

My boi Leper, look at him
The Leper was once a king, now in search of a way to purge as much evil as possible before his sickness takes him. In Darkest Dungeon, he joins the Heir's quest. In For Honor, he might just fight for peace and what is right, just like he did for the Hamlet.
(I highly recommend you to look at his comic I put as a picture, and maybe this video which is the comic but animated, so that you can have an idea of the Leper's backstory : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJWKbelvdQs )

His comic
As the game describes him : " Struggle, and futility — all one's days are a constant toil to shelter life's ember through one more night. The Leper not only knows but embraces such solemnity. Tortured existence has taught him to count not on the care of others. He has learned to channel his energy inward, a kingdom within one man. His power can neither serve nor comfort others; but, drawing on it, he can gain strength others can but dream of, or the endurance to bear what no other could. And when his massive blade falls, death's call rings loud to all caught in its thunderous arc. However, such force falls not nimbly, and foes may lightly evade their execution. [...] In the end, all will meet with death. The Leper sets his sights only on ensuring as many of the twisted horrors of this land as possible attend their final appointment, until his own may be postponed no more. "
And this will be the main thing you need to remember to get why I suggest some things, but I'll likely put a reminder of this when explaining his moveset.

Since For Honor characters are made starting by their weapons, the Executioner sword, though not meant for combat (then again, the one that the Leper carries is enormous, even when broken), is not one we already have, and therefore a valid candidate.
He wears a heavy suit of armor and is the toughest character in Darkest Dungeon strength-wise, so keep that in mind because now let's dive in...

Part 2 - The character in For Honor

Alright, so, I might have around 1500 hours on For Honor, but I sure as hell don't know how to balance things properly, so if you see anything that is way too weak or way too OP, don't hesitate to tell me in the comments, so I can try and change that.
Also, with the CCU I know that balance has shifted quite a bit, so if some choice seem illogical, comment at will.

In Darkest Dungeon, the goal is to explore (you might have guessed already) dungeons, in search of loot like gold to take care of your adventurers, and heirlooms to retore your Hamlet, until you are ready to send your best teams in the Darkest Dungeon.
When you explore said dungeons, with a precise goal given to you, you will more than likely (Like 100%, unless you don't have a fighting objective and are extremely lucky) have to fight the monsters roaming the area, so that you can progress further.
In those encounters, the fight system is the following : The four members of your team will face a group of enemies (ranging from 1 to 4 foes). The tricky part here is that your characters cannot perform the same moves if they are in the back lane (Position 3 and 4) than the front lane (Pos. 1 and 2), and you won't get hit my the same attacks (with some exceptions).

In this game, the Leper takes the role of a frontline tank, withstanding the heaviest blows usually hitting the front ranks while also delivering the most devastating moves in the game in terms of raw power (In the late game, most enemies have around 24-28hp, a standard blow from the Leper can deal around 16 to 32).
But his strength does not come without drawbacks : and can only hit the enemy rank 1 and 2 effectively (where the tanks are, and not the most important enemies most of the time) and if driven out of position, will take a long time to come back to the front, while being unable to attack (The Leper can only move forward 1 rank at a time, unless one of his allies retreats behind him, and he can only attack in rank 1 or 2).
He also has poor dodge and poor accuracy (It's the factor that, combined with the target's dodge, determines if your hit is successful or not), explaining why he is considered a heavy hitter, when he hits and a true tank but unable to evade powerful blows at an acceptable rate. Still, he is truly a force to be reckoned with, and will stand proud, until the Death door's bell rings one too many times...

Like that's ever gonna happen.

First, the stats :
Class (Like it matters) : Tank, Health = 140 (Like Lawbringer), Speed = 1.78 m/s (Like Highlander)

|| Thought process : In Darkest Dungeon, the Leper is a very tough character and packs a lot of health, but is slow and will almost always play last during a round (unless buffed), hence why he is one of the few with the largest health pool in the game Post-CCU (Like LB and JJ if I'm not mistaken) but also the slowest speed (which might lead into a potential issue later).

Then, the moves and unique abilities of the Leper : (Damage and durations will be mentioned later in details)
Don't hesitate to see the images and captions to have an idea of how the Leper looks when doing his most important moves.
And yes I know, those names are just his barks and original moves, but I lack the imagination to make better names.

- Lights (L) : Enhanced lights (Not interrupted on regular block)
- Heavies (H) : Slower than most heavies but also more powerful, also gain the unblockable property when is a heavy finisher.
- Zone (L + H) : A feint-able horizontal swing that covers a 180° area in front of the Leper, but cannot hit from far away. (No forward momentum or anything, keeping the front line hitter philosophy)
|| Thought process : We have seen that having more than 500ms lights is terrible, no matter the character, so I thought it would be best to give enhanced lights without anything more and instead focus on the heavy attacks, giving them a slower speed but quite good damage to keep the hard hitting personality. Also, his attacks have decent range (a bit like Lawbringer) but no forward momentum (Again, keeping the "able to hit when close, but hard to hit nimble opponents" thing)

Chains:
- Fog before sunrise : L - L
- Blood in the mud : H - H
- Summer before the Fall : L - H
- Petals must fall : H - L
|| Thought process : I know, those are two hit chains and unlike Tiandi or Zhanzu, they don't flow in anything in particular.
Or do they?
Sike, they do.

Special abilities :

- Rain in the forest : When finishing a chain with a heavy , the Leper will have his sword quite far from his body because of the strength of the strike and the weight of the blade. However, this allows him to come back with a wide swing with more inertia than usual.
When finishing a chain with a heavy finisher, you can cancel the recovery with a zone, and this zone becomes uninterruptible and has more damage but also has a longer recovery and cannot be feinted, making you GB vulnerable.
This forces you to make a prediction : Either you think your opponent will try to GB after a dodge or try to do a dodge attack that doesn't interrupts your heavy finisher, and you zone to trade/interrupt them, or the opponent thinks you will zone and you don't so you won't be GB'd. In that case you won the big brain duel and can dish out additional damage AND get the frame advantage, or just not get annihilated (which is good too).
On the other hand, if you zone and the opponent predicted it, you might be parried or GB'd, and if the opponent dodges then GB and you didn't zone, your heavy finisher recoveries won't allow you to counter-GB, making you stand there. Unable to defend yourself. Just like Shugoki when he misses Demon's embrace (of course, not to this extent).
||Thought process : To me personally, being able to cancel recoveries with something is quite fun, and in the case of the Leper, an enhanced zone that rewards a good prediction and is punishable when handled properly, seemed alright.

- Withstand : Now this is where things will start to get closer to Darkest Dungeon. Press the full block button to enter a state called Withstand. In this state, the Leper will open his arms downward, tanking every blow with his bronze plate armor instead of blocking with his sword. (Not realistic I know, but if he can tank a bloody cannonball in Darkest Dungeon like that, why couldn't he do it with swords and axes?)

The Leper using Withstand
This will have 3 effects :
First is that damage will be reduced to chip damage (+ some extra damage in case this is way too strong).
Also, since this is a superior block (like Conq's full block), enemies will be forced to stop their chains, unless they used a zone (Zones aren't interrupted by superior block, don't ask me why), and if in revenge / enemies are OOS, will knock them down. (So that you can use it in a gank without taking the risk of dying in one GB and not look like a total badass)
And last but definitely not least, the Leper will start to build-up Virtue, a status that I will explain in details later on. (If you played Darkest Dungeon, you know this is going to be good)
But it also has drawbacks, you cannot Withstand against unblockable attacks, cannot counter GB until FULLY out of this state, will also block your allies attacks (and not build Virtue), are unable to move at all AND CHIP DAMAGE IS FATAL WHEN IN WITHSTAND (Hard to T-pose and tank a hit when you are on 1 pixel of health).
Also, the most important drawback is that being FORCED out of Withstand with an attack or a GB will make you lose some Virtue.
||Thought process : What would the Leper be without his most iconic sprite of all game? In Darkest Dungeon, this move buffs him to take less damage and be more resistant to negative effects like bleeding, poison, forced displacement and debuffs. Instead, I found it to be better if it blocked damage with a little +, and it's not over yet...

- Rising tide : When ever you finish an attack (light or heavy, finisher or not), you can cancel the recovery by entering the Withstand state. This is a good way to catch a dodge attack you predicted, or just to assert dominance between two chains.
And no, it doesn't make the zone after heavy finisher obsolete, because : yes, you will build up your Virtue and T-pose on them haters, but you're still vulnerable to GBs and missed a great opportunity to have some good damage.
||Thought process : A bit like BP and his Bulwark counter, I thought it would be best to catch blows and tank it instead of just flipping them. It's quite the same thing, but it wouldn't work on very fast or unblockable dodge attacks.

- Focus : (I was gonna call this "Revenge" like the move he has in DD, but we already have that in For Honor so...)
Whenever the Leper enters Withstand, his moveset changes drastically, and will have different properties than regular attacks...
- Light attacks becomes Slash, slightly more damage and same speed but is uninterruptible (Trading with Hyper armor does not give Virtue). Can be used on every side.

In-game sprite for Chop, but is better for Slash in my opinion (Since it's a light attack so 1 hand)

- Heavy attacks becomes Chop, an extremely powerful heavy that always come from the top and that is slower than regular heavies. Is also uninterruptible BUT NOT UNBLOCKABLE and does not give Virtue when trading blows. Getting hit by this attack will more than likely mean that your health bar went on a vacation. Then again, it must hit... All or nothing, just like in Darkest Dungeon.

In-game sprite for Hew, but is better for Chop in my opinion (Because it's a heavy, so 2 hands)

- Zone attack becomes Hew, which is the enhanced zone from "Rain in the forest", with the same properties and same risks. A new level of big brain plays like Heavy finisher into Withstand into zone just opened itself to you. However, it requires big brain energy from both opponents.
(i don't have an image for this one, just imagine him doing a very wide swing)

- Finally, a new attack is added : Purge (And let's be honest guys, that attack is way too fun in DD). When holding S (or backwards on console idk) and inputting a heavy, the Leper will start a wide swing from the ground to the air, and guess who's in the middle of it.

In-game sprite for Purge (Just imagine the sword came from the ground)
Purge is a feint-able bash with proper tracking (Not like Warmonger *cough cough*), and when it connects with the enemy, it will send them flying in a way similar to Shugoki's heavy after a GB (I know, not very original, but that's the move from Darkest Dungeon, go check the wiki). This will deal slightly more damage than a light, but is a nice little way of flexing your muscles, and potentially send them into Oblivion if you so happen to be on Point C in High Fort for example.
Doing any of those attacks, even feinted, will take you out of Withstand.
This is a good way of trying to use a top "slash" as a bait for a "chop", a "hew" if you need to leave Withstand with a bang, or "purge" if you want to have some funny ledge compilation or have a feint into GB (since it's a reactable bash, it's a 50/50). All you have to do is to predict correctly (Then again, every character must use prediction too if you want to use them at 100%)
||Thought process : This is where all the moves from the original game will come into play : Chop being a single target dealing enormous damage, Hew an attack targeting the two front enemies but dealing less damage, and Purge being able to hit back the First enemy all the way in the back line. Slash is just a name I found in a mod that reworks the Leper, but the Leper I'm talking about is the original one.

- Gift of fearlessness : I know, you might think that Withstand is just gonna be another Full-Block with nothing else (Apart from the Virtue, but damn this will take some time to explain), but let me spice that up for you :
When you get hit at least once, and for as long as you stay in Withstand the next attack you will throw will have added properties.
Slash, Chop and Hew gain the unblockable property (might be too overkill, but forces a reaction from your opponent, and he better have 9000IQ for this one)
Purge will deal more damage, send you slightly further and will also affect those around the blow (will just stagger them, interrupting their attacks), enemies or not.
Also, you will gain twice (too much?) more Virtue as long as you maintain this state and keep tanking blows with the same chip damage (Remember that the Leper is meant to be used smartly, so don't greed too much).
||Thought process : Having a kit focused around a full block might be weird after the CCU, but with all the offence and the Leper being slow, I thought it would be best to keep his identity of tanking and having slow attacks, but also rewarding a successful defense by forcing the opponent to be in a situation that he'll likely not make it out without taking a hit, his primary goal being to get the good prediction, or at least minimize the damage.

- Virtue : This whole post is already way too long, and we're only addressing now the most unique thing the Leper would have to offer.
In Darkest Dungeon, the trials our champions are subjected to might prove to be too difficult for their minds to handle. Be it that some madman predicted Doomsday, or that a huge skeletal collector decided to show you all the heads from your previous adventurers, the adventures in Darkest Dungeon will sometimes reach a breaking point : An affliction check.
When stress builds up and reaches the fatal number of 100, 1 of 2 things will happen :
The most likely outcome of this unbearable madness is your character becoming "Afflicted", a severe set of debuffs and negative effects will now plague your hero. One may become filled with Paranoïa, making them unable to trust their fellow adventurers, and stressing them out, or worse.. Some also become Masochistic, refusing any form of healing, or hurting themselves, even in the most lethal of situations...

A Vestal becoming Irrational
However, there is a slight glimmer of hope, where your hero will not fall in the face of chaos, and rise stronger than before, with the name : Virtuous. When heroes are blessed by a Virtue, they will gain great buffs and special "act-out" randomly at the beginning of their round.

The Leper becoming Focused (This one is low res, excuse my poor editing skills)
Needless to say, since in For Honor there is no eldritch horrors lurking about, so we will only focus on the Virtue part of the character (unless someone has a cleaver way of implementing stress and heart attacks)
Of course, this will require an additional HUD element (visible to the Leper, and maybe the enemies).
After taking enough damage in the Withstand state (I am not even going to propose a proper range of damage, because it'll most likely be broken af, but somewhere around 50 chip damage, without taking into consideration the possible bonus damage, seems ok), the leper will gain a random virtue from Darkest Dungeon. For every virtue, I will tell you what it does in Darkest Dungeon, and how it could be in For Honor.
When the Leper gains a Virtue, he will do a 2000ms in which he is invulnerable and unmovable (by GB, bashes, feats...) and will do an animation + say a voice line after the animation indicating which Virtue the Leper got.
(In the game, there's also a line indicating clearly the Virtue, but having some text pop-up might not be the best idea)
A Virtue is chosen randomly between the 5.
Virtues in For honor are lost when the hero dies or when the Virtue bar becomes empty again, and you also lose Virtue from regular hits now (but can still be refilled thanks to Withstand).
When in Revenge and Virtuous you don't lose Virtue points, but cannot gain them either.
Also, just like in Darkest Dungeon, Virtues will have "act-outs"; In Darkest Dungeon they have 25% chance of being activated at the beginning of a virtuous hero's turn. And in darkest dungeon, we could have a 25% chance of being triggered every 10 seconds.
Also, like in Darkest dungeon, you cannot have to act-outs in a row (If you got an "act-out", the next check in 10 seconds will not have 25% but 0% chance of being triggered, keeping this in the spirit of Darkest Dungeon and it's sometimes luck oriented gameplay, without making it absolutely broken)
Whenever an act-out is triggered, a little halo of light will appear above the Leper, and a corresponding bark will be played (A bark is the name of the text said by characters in Darkest Dungeon)

A Stalwart Leper indicating he will do his act-out (There should be a halo of light as well but I didn't time the screenshot well enough)
Needless to say, that a Virtue is supposed to be powerful, but if they seem to OP, don't hesitate to tell me. Also, Virtues are disabled in Duels.

Courageous : In Darkest Dungeon, a hero that becomes courageous is less affected by stress coming their way, will be faster and will have an "Act-out" that will slightly reduce the stress of other party members.
In For Honor, we could have a reduction of Virtue loss by being forced out of Withstand or by attacks, have a stamina boost (like less stamina consumed, or better stamina regeneration), and the act-out could be that every time it is activated, allies gain a boost to their stamina too (But less than the Leper), a bit like JJ's Tier 2.

Stalwart : In Darkest Dungeon, a hero that becomes Stalwart takes less damage from attacks and gains more Deathblow resistance (A mechanic specific to Darkest Dungeon), and their "act-out" is reducing their own stress by quite a lot.
In For Honor, we could have a defense buff by like 15% less damage taken, and when under 25% health, it becomes a 30% reduction. The act-out could be a small refill of the Virtue bar every time it is activated, making the Leper able to stay Virtuous longer.

Focused : This was the trickiest one to come up with. In Darkest Dungeon, a hero that becomes focused, their accuracy and critical chance increase a lot, and their act-out gives one ally a temporary accuracy and critical boost.
In For Honor, we could have this Virtue having no passive effect, but every time the act-out is activated, the Leper and a random ally near the Leper will gain a 30% damage boost on the next attack that hits the opponent (Not blocked or dodged).

Powerful : In Darkest Dungeon, a hero that becomes powerful, he gains a good damage buff and when the "act-out" is activated, it will give the same damage boost to all you allies for a short period of time.
In For Honor, we could have a permanent 25% damage boost to the Leper and when the "act-out" is activated, also give it to all the nearby allies for 10 seconds (maybe more).

Vigorous : A tank's dream. In Darkest Dungeon, a hero that becomes vigorous, he becomes a lot faster and has better dodge. But most importantly his act-out is a heal worth 10% of the vigorous hero's max health.
In For Honor, we could have an increase in I-Frames on side dodges (like 1 or 2 frames, so 33/66ms more), have a bigger stamina pool (to make it different from the one courageous gives), and the "act-out" could be a 20 health heal (only for the Leper).
||Thought process : I know, you might think these are OP, and to be honest they might be. But Like in Darkest Dungeon, Virtues are very hard to get, but if one of your heroes is virtuous, he becomes tremendously more powerful. This is what I tried to replicate here, although it would need some serious balancing to keep it in the realm of "Good but not OP".

And there you go, this is the Leper's moveset and special abilities. Now let's dive in the numbers.

First of all, there will be no detailed recoveries, because if can't properly balance a character, I won't even dare approach those values. I know how they play out in-game, but I'm just glad I don't have to come up with them.

Light attack Opener: 14 dmg, 500ms
Light attack Finisher: 16 dmg, 500ms
Heavy attack Opener: 28 dmg side, 33 dmg top, 700ms side, 800ms top
Heavy attack Finisher: 35 dmg, 900ms
Zone : 20 dmg, 600ms
Enhanced Zone / Hew : 26 dmg, 600ms
Slash : 18 dmg, 500ms
Chop : 45 dmg, 1100ms (Enormous recovery even for a Withstand move, all-or-nothing)
Purge : 20 dmg, 700ms
Enhanced Purge : 25 dmg, 700ms
||Thought process : I have no idea what I'm doing, I just hope those feel right and keep the character's integrity, while also being viable and not OP.

Then the Feats :

To keep the idea of not being able to give strength to others, the only feats he will have are feats that affect him, and also no projectile feat. (And yes, Virtues do give buffs to allies, but they are not exclusive to the Leper in Darkest Dungeon)
Il will try to reflect several aspects of the Leper within each Tier :
T1 = Intimidating presence
T2 = Resistance
T3 = Self-Sustain / Tougher than most
T4 = Not that easy to kill

Unique Tier 1 : (passive) Intimidate : All enemies that are locked on to you have a small damage and defense debuff.
OR
Exotic idea time : (active) Forces all the enemies within a certain range to lock on you and deal less damage, for a small period of time (5s forced lock, 15 sec debuff for example), and you are visible through walls for 15 seconds.

In-game icon for intimidate
Other Tier 1 : Harsh Judgment & Come At Me
||Thought process : The move Intimidate in Darkest Dungeon is a move that is not used very often, but has the purpose of debuffing the target damage and speed, and mark you to death. That's kind of what I tried to do in the exotic idea, but I still prefer the passive version to be honest.
Harsh Judgment & Come at me are skills that reinforce that aspect, even though Harsh judgment could use a small buff (it's still better than most people imagine), and Come At Me is a good way to access other tiers fast while keeping this "intimidating" mindset.

Unique Tier 2 : (passive) Bloody Shroud : Halves the damage per tick of bleed, fire and negative buffs.

In-game icon for Bloody Shroud
Other Tier 2 : Flesh Wound & Juggernaut
||Thought process : In Darkest Dungeon, Bloody Shroud is a skill you can access when resting around a campfire which boosts most of your resistances to negative effects. I thought it might be interesting to implement it that way.
HOWEVER, When I say halves the damage, it won't affect the duration : Meaning that if you get triple stabbed by a PK, each tick will deal only half the damage, but you will bleed for the same amount of time, leaving time for characters like Shaman, PK, Nobushi and Zhanzu to use their passive abilities and feats too. Also, it won't work on instant damage like the explosion of the fire flask. Only the fire part is affected. And by negative effects, I mean like Marked for Death, leaving a Doom Banner / Chilling Stare area, etc...
Flesh Wound and juggernaut or other feats that make the Leper able to tank more hits, but leave him more vulnerable to damage over time than with Bloody Shroud.
Also, I could have put Rock Steady, but that feat is broken, so that's a no from me until it is made less powerful.

Unique Tier 3 : (Active) Solemnity : When out of Guard mode and standing still, press the T3 button to kneel down and meditate. This will have to effects : Heal you over time (Somewhere in between BP bulwark Heal and Regenerate) and build up Virtue slowly (~2% per second). This feat has a 5 second cooldown afetr you interrupt it, or leave guard mode (so that you can't abuse the next feat so easily in a bad situation) and will continue until interrupted. HOWEVER, you will need to go through a 1000ms animation where the Leper gets up, and during that time you have no guard, and cannot dodge or counter GB. Moving or entering Guard mode interrupts Solemnity.

In game icon for solemnity

In-game Sprite for Solemnity
Other Tier 3 : Tough as Nails & Second Wind
||Thought process : In Darkest Dungeon, the skill Solemnity is a skill the Leper has that will heal him for a good chunk of his health and remove some stress. This is in some way what I tried to recreate here, and make it somewhat in line with the healing nerf from the CCU.
ALSO, while Solemnity does give Virtue points, it won't go past a certain percentage, so that people don't camp on control points until they gain a Virtue. It will go to around 50%, but the Leper will still have to Withstand a few blows to get his Virtue.
Tough as Nails & Second wind are good feats that also give the Leper another way to sustain itself, or make him tougher passively.
Now for the one that will bring the most controversy.

Unique Tier 4 : (passive) Death's Door : When a hit is supposed to kill you, you don't die but instead, a bell is heard and you enter the Death's door state. In this state, you have a massive Damage and Stamina consumption debuff (~25%) and have a 75% Deathblow resist. Each time you get hit, no matter the damage, the game will give you a chance of surviving that blow equal to your Deathblow resist. Then, 1 of 2 things will happen :
You hear the bell again, and the fight goes on. If the game made you survive the hit , you continue to live and have a 1 or 2 second grace period where you won't trigger a Death door check again but keep the death's door debuffs, and also decreases your Deathblow resist by 15%, which stacks until you reach the dreaded 0%. if you are lucky enough that is.
If you aren't that lucky though, you die (I know right), and gain the DEATHBLOW! effect. While affected by the DEATHBLOW! effect (This damn word is the bane of my existence in DD), you cannot be revived, even when not executed, and you have a 10 second respawn penalty (I am not too sure about that penalty. If anyone has a better idea, I would be glad to hear it).
You get out of Death's door by healing at least 1 health point and then the skills enters on cooldown (~1 min). But this does not stop there.
After you leave Death's door, you won't be able to enter it again for the duration of the cooldown, and you will suffer "Mortality debuffs". Those are less important than in Death's door (10% instead of 25%), but will last until the end of the cooldown.
Also, Senbonzakura (Hitokiri's unique T4 feat) will bypass Death's door. (Becaude I thought it could be cool to have a special interaction, but maybe that's just a useless nerf)
Other Tier 4 : Indomitable & Auto-revive
||Thought process : In Darkest Dungeon, whenever a character reaches 0 Health, they enter Death's door. While in Death's door, every time they take damage, no matter the amount, they will have a Death's door check. If they are lucky, they survive. If not, they die. Permanently. This is what I tried to do with this feat.
Tier 4 feats are supposed to be the most powerful ones in the whole game, and while being able to resist something that should have killed you is very strong (and maybe more hits if you are lucky enough), I don't know if it would have as much impact as a Fire Flask or a Spear Storm. Don't get me wrong, this is THE feat from the Leper (even though it's not unique to him, Death's door is a very important mechanic in Darkest Dungeon), but I don't know if it could rival other feats in Dominion or Breach.
Maybe that instead of using the Death door system from Darkest Dungeon's, I'll use a base chance of 67% fixed chance.
Then again, I am open to every idea, as long as it is balanced and can actually be done.
Idomitable serves the same purpose as Death's door, but the choice is a two sided coin : If you are unlucky, Imdomitable is better, but being able to tank 5 heavies in a row in Death's door is also very strong (The probabilities of this happening is not a lot, don't try this too much), but you'd better pray for good RNG.
Auto-revive is quite good and is simple (Even though it's kinda award when you auto-revive in front of the enemies after loosing in 4V4)

Gear stats :

Aegis, Remedy, Bastion, Vengful Barrier, Last Stand, Fresh Focus, Bulk up
||Thought process : I put almost every defensive defensive gear stat (except remedy) to complement the tanky playstyle of the Leper, with some synergy with shields if you play Vengful barrier and/or Idomitable, Bulk up to make the Leper even harder to kill (like he should be), And Last Stand / Fresh Focus are here to allow those who like to play in near-death scenarios (If any of you here play Flagellant like that, you are a bunch of madlads)

Potential issues :
- You might have noticed it, but the Leper doesn't have a running attack, as well as means to effectively deal with rolls. I thought of giving him a forward dodge Heavy that has no special property but good tracking, and that deals some damage, but I don't know if that's the best idea of a character that's devastating at close range but not supposed to hit from afar.
I also thought about giving him Purge but only for a sprint attack, but giving a bash as a sprint attack may not be the best idea in my opinion.
The problem is also that his attacks are quite slow, and I don't know how to make it feel right balance-wise (Since the CCU is balanced about speed and damage, the Leper will look like someone from before the CCU, slow but devastating, but again, that's what he does)
Well, that was long.

Part 3 - Customization

Well, this is where ForFashion comes in.

The Leper is my favorite character in DD (in case you haven't noticed), and while each character only has one skin with different color palettes, I think there is much that can be done fashion-wise.
First of all, The Leper should be in the Knight faction (Yes I know, another knight, but where else would he be. If you want a Viking go play Hellion or something)

Also, while I do love me some Latin, the Leper speaks English in Darkest Dungeon and it would be better to have the Virtue voice lines in English so that people can understand, or at least recognize them more easily.
However, in the Darkest Dungeon wiki, it is said that the Leper is likely inspired from King Baldwin IV of Jerusalem, also known as (you might be surprised) "The Leper", so he might have some attack lines in Hebrew if you want something exotic.

Also, while we can't hear our characters in Darkest Dungeon, I could see the Leper talking with a rather deep voice, and with pauses between some words (for a Virtue), to sound more poetic.

The Executioner's sword is a good surface for the wonderful art team of For Honor (I love you guys), and could be a nice way of reflecting "a once officious weapon, now broken as the man who wields it."

Example of an executioner's sword
There is also much that can be done with the mask and the hood around it, but also the torso and arms (while not forgetting the bandages that are a part of the Leper's identity.

Example of armor
I would also like to make a shoutout to the person who made the Crowned Leper skin in Darkest Dungeon, here's an image and a link to the mod if you want it for yourself :
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1819793697

The Crowned Leper (with the option to have the broken sword) and the Original Leper

Also, two of his trinkets (Objects you equip to affect a character's stats) are a tin flute and his last will. Maybe they could be attached to his belt for example.
There isn't that much else that can be said without images, so I'll put some trinkets the Leper has and that could show you some ideas of customization.
(There should also be images of bracelets, but I reached the image limit)
Example of alternative mask 1

Example of alternative mask 2
Also, his sitting emote could be his camping sprite from DD :

The Leper while camping in Darkest Dungeon

And that's it, my proposition if there ever was to be the Leper in For Honor.

If you read everything, congrats you must either be interested a lot, or just have nothing else to do.
Also, I feel like I've missed some things, so don't hesitate to ask questions, I'll try to answer them.

$PSTG: PURE STORAGE for them, PURE TENDIES for you

$PSTG: PURE STORAGE for them, PURE TENDIES for you
This is actually my first DD I've ever posted so fuck you and forgive me if this doesn't work out for you.I've been looking at $PSTG for a while now and if my buying power didn't get so fucked from my decision to buy 8/7 UBER puts, I would have been already all over this play.
What had got me looking into Pure Storage was an unusual options activity alert. I've looked into this company before but didn't entirely understand what they do. Now after looking at them again, I'm still not exactly sure wtf they do....BUT I've gotten a better clue. Basically what I got from my research is that these guys fuck with "all-FLASH data storage solutions (enabling cloud solutions and other low-latency applications where tape/disk storage does not meet the needs)."......and ultimately what this all means to me is that these are the motherfuckers making those stupid fast laser money printers with the rocket ships attached. And that's something I'm interested in.
Now, here is the DailyDick you all degenerates have all been fiending for:
Fundamentally: PureStorage remains one of the few hardware companies in tech that is consistently growing double motherfucking digits, yet remains constantly cucked and neglected by investors (trading at 1.9x EV/Sales).
https://preview.redd.it/ek7ugjsewnf51.png?width=1118&format=png&auto=webp&s=f9c7e72c95e450a105e44223937422d896eeeb21
The 36 Months beta value for PSTG stock is at 1.62. 74% Buy Rating on RH. PSTG has a short float of 7.28% and public float of 243.36M with average trading volume of 3.16M shares. This was trading at around $18 on Wednesday 8/5 when I started writing this and as of right now, it's about $17.33 💸
The company has a market capitalization of ~$4.6 billion. In the last quarter, PSTG reported a ballin'-ass profit of $256.82 million. Pure Storage also saw revenues increase to $367.12 million. IMO, they should rename themselves PURE PROFIT. As of 04-2020, they got the cash monies flowing at $11.32 million . The company’s EBITDA came in at -$62.81 million which compares very fucking well among its dinosaur ass peers like HPE, Dell, IBM and NetApp. Pure Storage keeps taking market share from them old farts while growing the chad-like revenue #s of 33% in F2019, 21% in F2020, and 12% in F1Q21.
Chart of their financial growth since IPO in 2015:
https://preview.redd.it/gwlmy82v4nf51.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=b6508cd5f641da4086b70d8b8007da034e982fd7
At the end of last quarter, Pure Storage had cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities of $1.274B, compared with $1.299B as of Feb 2, 2020. The total Debt to Equity ratio for PSTG is recording at 0.64 and as of 8/6, Long term Debt to Equity ratio is at 0.64.Earning highlights from last quarter:
  • Revenue $367.1 million, up 12% year-over-year
  • Subscription Services revenue $120.2 million, up 37% year-over-year
  • GAAP gross margin 70.0%; non-GAAP gross margin 71.9%
  • GAAP operating loss $(84.9) million; non-GAAP operating loss $(5.4) million
  • Operating cash flow was $35.1 million, up $28.5 million year-over-year
  • Free cash flow was $11.3 million, up $29.0 million year-over-year
  • Total cash and investments of $1.3 billion
I bolded the Subscription Services Revenue bullet because to me that's a big deal. Pure Storage keeps them coming back with products such as Pure-as-a-service and Cloud Block Store and everybody knows that the recurring revenue model is best model. Big ass enterprises buy storage from vendors such as Pure Storage in the cloud to prevent vendor lock-in by the cloud providers. $$$ >!💰<
What are Pure Storage's other revenue drivers? Well these motherfuckers also have the products to address the growth of Cloud storage as well as the products to drive the growth of on-prem storage. For on-prem data center, Pure sells Flash Array to address block storage workloads (for databases and other mission-critical workloads) and FlashBlade for unstructured or file data workloads. On-prem storage revenue is mainly driven by legacy storage array replacement cycle.
https://preview.redd.it/01su6chrwnf51.png?width=1129&format=png&auto=webp&s=16e6a705f9392291bc0c3932c815802d9101365e
So far, it seems like Pure Storage's obviously passionate and smart as fuck CEO has been spot on with his prediction of the flash storage sector's direction. Also seems like he's not camera shy either. Pure Storage's "Pure-as-a-Service and Cloud Block Store" unified subscription offerings is fo sho gaining momentum it. This shit is catching on with enterprises, both big and small. COVID-19 increased the acceleration of our digital transformation and the subsequent shift to the cloud. This increased demand in data-centers is going to drastically help Pure Storage's future top and bottom line. To top it off, NAND prices are recovering! (inferred from MU earnings). I expect Pure Storage to get some relief on the pricing front because of this which obviously in turn should improve revenues.
PSTG's numbers look pretty good to me so far but are they a good company overall? Even when scalping and trading, I don't like to fuck with overall shitty companies so I always check for basic things like customer satisfaction, analyst ratings/targets, broad-view industry trends, and hedge fund positioning.. that sort of thing.Pure Storage stands out in all of these fields for me.
https://preview.redd.it/4n0e5nve5of51.png?width=373&format=png&auto=webp&s=495416bb6f5a2dab77f3ac483ca4d9510b39037c
Customers like Dominos Pizza and many others all seem to be happy AF with no issues. I can hardly even find a negative review online. Their products seems to be universally applauded. Gartner and other third party independent analysts also consider Pure Storage's product line-up some of the best in the industry.
The industry average for this sector is a piss poor 65.Pure Storage has a 2020 Net Promoter Score of 86
https://preview.redd.it/3w51io8yvmf51.png?width=698&format=png&auto=webp&s=4f7d06825d0ad9d126216e5069af2f9c3636f86a
Enterprises are upgrading their existing storage infrastructure with newer and more modern data arrays, based on NAND flash. They do this because they're forced to keep up with the increasing speed of business inter-connectivity. This shit is the 5g revolution sort to speak of the corporate business world. Storage demands and needs aren't changing because of the pandemic and isn't changing in the future. The newer storage arrays are smaller, consume less power, are less noisy and do not generate excess heat in the data center and hence do not need to be cooled like the fat fucks at IBM need to be. Flash storage arrays in general are cheaper to operate and are extremely fast, speeding up applications. Pure Storage by all accounts makes the best storage arrays in the industry and continues to grow faster than the old school storage vendors like bitchass NetApp, Dell, HPE and IBM.
Pure Storage’s market share was 12.7% in C1Q20 and was up from 10.1% in the prior year - LIKE A PROPER HIGH GROWTH COMPANY.HPE, NetApp and IBM, like the losers they are, lost market share.According to blocksandfiles.com, AFA vendor market share sizes and shifts are paraphrased below:
  • “Dell EMC – 34.8% (calculated $766m) vs. 33.7% a year ago
  • NetApp – 19.3% at $425m vs. 26.7% a year ago
  • Pure Storage – 12.7% at calculated $279.7m vs. 10.1% a year ago
  • HPE – 8.4% – $185m vs. 10% a year ago"
Pure has been gaining marketshare almost every year since it began selling storage arrays in 2011. Pure Storage is consistently rated the highest for the completeness of vision as this chart shows:
https://preview.redd.it/5agj17gcgnf51.png?width=428&format=png&auto=webp&s=da9c6389baccab85261d6e0f71b3474e84b90d3c
Hedge Funds are on this like flies on shit.
Alliancebernstein L.P. grew its position in Pure Storage by 0.5% in the 4th quarter. Alliancebernstein L.P. now owns 104,390 shares of the technology company’s stock worth $1,786,000 after purchasing an additional 560 shares during the last quarter.
Legal & General Group Plc grew its position in Pure Storage by 0.3% in the 1st quarter. Legal & General Group Plc now owns 258,791 shares of the technology company’s stock worth $3,213,000 after purchasing an additional 753 shares during the last quarter.
Sunbelt Securities Inc. acquired a new stake in Pure Storage in the 4th quarter worth $4,106,000.
CENTRAL TRUST Co grew its position in Pure Storage by 79.8% in the 2nd quarter. CENTRAL TRUST Co now owns 3,226 shares of the technology company’s stock worth $56,000 after purchasing an additional 1,432 shares during the last quarter.
Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management Co. grew its position in Pure Storage by 203.0% in the 1st quarter. Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management Co. now owns 2,312 shares of the technology company’s stock worth $28,000 after purchasing an additional 1,549 shares during the last quarter.
Also, everybody's favorite wall street TSLA bull, Cathie Wood has been busy steadily purchasing big lots of PSTG for her ARK ETF funds for a while now...Even going as far as selling TSLA in order to re-balance!
https://preview.redd.it/zjxuakjosnf51.png?width=1125&format=png&auto=webp&s=f34abdd3b35791eb207d31d72ea0f6fb11beec30

Hedge funds and other institutional investors own 78.93% of the company’s stock and it seems like more are piling in every day.
Tons of active options, too -Pretty good volume lately with the spreads looking decent.
Over 5,000 September $20 Calls added just on 8/3 alone 🤔
Order flow helps my thesis here, showing a recent influx of big dick money moving into PSTG.

Technically: This broke out through down-trend line a couple of days ago and as of right now looks to be pretty oversold. Looks like its found support at the 50 DMA and zooming out , the chart just looks like to me that it's coiling up for a big breakout.

**So what's the play?**I'd like to see RSI break out of the downtrend and the divergence between price & momentum ends at some point. If/when RSI breaks out, I want to play this thing aggressively with bullish call calendar spreads....THAT IS IF I HAD SOME FUCKING BUYING POWER (FUCK YOU UBER)....Soooo really what I'll be doing is asking my wife's boyfriend sometime this weekend for a loan. That way on Monday I can buy some $PSTG 9/18 $17.5 & $20 calls at open and YOLO my saddness away for a week.God forbid, I might even buy of those things called "shares" I heard about from /investing if at all possible because in all honesty, I really do feel like this is a good company to hold in a long term growth portfolio.Pure Storage is NOT looking like your average KODK prostitute to flip or scalp and actually more like someone you'd bring home to your dads.
EARNING DATE: 8/25
Pure Storage has a history of beating estimates and rocketing up. Over the last 20 quarters, the company beat revenue 17 quarters by an average of $4.9 million or about 3%. Out of the three times that the company missed on revenues, once was due to supply fuck-ups at one of its distributors and the other two times were due to Average Selling Prices declining faster than the company forecasted. Higher-than-expected ASP declines (due to NAND oversupply) is one of the risks of the storage business...but then again NAND prices look to be recovering now if MU's earning isn't fucking with us and telling us fibs. Big money is forecasting revenue to be around $396 million, essentially flat year-over-year, and EPS of a disrespectful ass penny....Fuck that conservative ass guidance! I think PSTG is going to blow that shit out the water. This chart shows Pure Storage’s past performance and we all know for sure that past performance = future results.....right?

My Prediction: After ER8/25, Pure Storage will hit new 52 week highs.$20.50 - $23.50 is my guess. Bold prediction, $27.50+ by the EOY and $50 by December 2021.
tldr: PSTG 9/18 $17.5 & $20 calls

edit: for those that bought into this, I'm in this with you!
Let's pray for a rebound next week. also, Fuck Cisco!

PRPL Warrants are Back on the Menu Boys!

PRPL Warrants are Back on the Menu Boys!
What are you doing clicking this when you could be reading yet another TSLA post!?!

tl;dr - PRPL Warrants (PRPLW) were registered again by Purple Innovation to trade on Nasdaq, which should drive a liquidity boost to their value ahead of any pile in from Robinhood users that can now trade them. (EDIT: see my note at the end. As a few users have pointed out, I was wrong on the RH retards).
Also, I'm liking the 20c / 22.5c spreads for 8/21. Great risk/reward (as of Friday).

DD Recap

When PRPL had closed at $13.67 in the previous trading session I called PRPL to $19+ by 8/12 (ER) on 5/25. Congrats to those who listened.
If you actually do DD, I'd recommend you read the above link, along with the follow up DDs done for this quarter:

New DD

I'm going to chat about the following in this post:
  1. Warrants on NASDAQ
  2. Updates to some previous DD
  3. Future Vision of PRPL Shared by VP of Branding

Warrants on NASDAQ

PRPLW warrants were originally listed on Nasdaq when the SPAC combination was completed. Because there were less than 400 unique round lot holders, the warrants fell off of NASDAQ and onto OTC markets where they have sat for well over a year.
On Thursday 7/16, Purple refiled to have the warrants listed on NASDAQ. NASDAQ followed close behind with a filing that certified their approval of the relisting of PRPLW.
How is this good? This will allow Robinhood users to pile into the warrants as well (watch Robintrack to monitor for meme status). On another note, it makes these commission-less trades on most other brokers, and also allows these to become marginable securities for yours truly (which means I get to double down and buy a whole lot more PRPL plays on margin).
Regardless, there was a value drop when the de-listing occurred due to the liquidity drop. I would expect some liquidity premium to return on these when the listing goes active again.

Updates to Previous DD

Cutting the Low End Products
Purple sells every mattress they make and is only constrained in sales by their manufacturing capacity (Purple is the actual manufacturer of their product, unlike other mattress startups like Casper). Please read previous DD at the top if you want more details.
In order to maximize revenue on the same units of sale, Purple discontinued their low-end mattress. This week, they announced a $100 price increase on their mid-tier mattress as well as their most popular mattress.

Product Category Notes
Original Purple Mattress Low End Discontinued
2" Hybrid Mattress Mid-Tier $100 Price Increase
3" Hybrid Premier Mattress Most Popular $100 Price Increase
4" Hybrid Premier Mattress Premium Price Unchanged
As Purple is still having sell out and lead time problems (check their website lead times), this is definitely a case of management trying to increase dollars per manufacturing capacity. For every Original Mattress they didn't manufacture, they were able to sell a Hybrid.
This is a great sign of management increasing their unit economics yet again.

Jobs
You may recall that we've been tracking job postings on the Purple job board as another measure of growth. The last time I posted on this, there were 56 job postings. As of Friday, THERE ARE 98 JOB POSTINGS! More importantly, they are now offering a $2,000 signing bonus for factory production workers. There's some pretty interesting other jobs on there as well.
While the media screams about unemployment, Purple is trying to fill the roster to the point where production jobs are being offered a relatively substantial bonus!

Future Vision of PRPL Shared by VP of Branding

On 7/9, Burke Morley, VP of Brand and Executive Creative Director at Purple, did a podcast where he shares some of the internal vision they have at Purple. They do NOT consider themselves just a mattress company, but rather mattresses is just a way to generate cash to allow them to apply their comfort innovation across many categories.
Dismissing Purple as just a mattress company is like seeing Amazon as just a bookseller in 1998. Burke shares their vision where they want to bring their technology to every aspect of your life: your office, your car, the plane, etc. Based upon the popularity of Purple's standalone seat cushions recently, they clearly can adapt their product to each of these markets.
If you are a DD-type of investor, I highly recommend you listen to the whole podcast, which does come across as very right-brained, in order to understand where this company is going.
Given that they have generated over $70M in cash in just April and May alone, I'm assuming we are going to see some of that cash deployed in product development to tap into these new markets. Exciting few years ahead of Purple!

This is not investment advice and do your own research before making any investments.

I'm long PRPL via several hundred thousand warrants, 25c 8/17 and 20c/22.5c 8/17 spreads.

EDIT: Looks like Robinhood users are still SOL with warrants even though they are NASDAQ. Time to upgrade your broker. I still think we will see a liquidity premium for these coming off of OTC.
