[Larian CEO] Our sales are insane - this is just Early Access you all. We just wanted to have a nice little community to iterate with. Now what are we going to do?
LPT: After you graduate from college, request an alumni email account. That way, you get access to all of the .edu perks + discounts you used as a student again.
If you loved the benefits of having a .edu account as a student, then you’ll continue loving it after college. If your university provides .edu accounts for alum, you’ll be able to use the account for a lot of the same benefits students get. It’s not fool proof. Some companies use SheerID to verify student enrollment but some companies provide educational benefits for all .edu holders, students, and instructors. Edit: grammar
Nintendo Switch Online would be worth so much more if you could access your Switch's screenshots from the mobile app. Using a MicroSD card can be such a hassle, especially in 2020
ie sort of like iCloud Photos or Google Photos, where the gallery syncs between the Switch and the mobile app. It seems like a reasonable ask for a $20/year service, especially if there's a cap on the number of screenshots that sync. Even being able to access the Switch's 10 most recent screenshots would remove so much hassle for a lot of people.
There are few things a developer can do that are more infuriating than forcing the player to start the story before allowing them to access the settings menu.
I don't even get why developers are doing it. To keep the home screen minimalistic and immersive? You know what's really immersion breaking to me? Being forced to tap out of the game to turn the windows sound to something like 10% because the game's default settings are so absurdly loud that no human would ever play at that volume. I seriously can't think of a single reason to hide the settings menu from the player. It feels condescending and straight up makes me angry. Whenever I start a game and I don't see an options button I immediately feel like closing and uninstalling the game. The recent Genshin Impact is one of the worst offenders here which motivated me to write this post. Not only is the sound way to loud it also apparently uses the system's language or region when installing the game. In my case that's German which I pretty much never play games in. A language setting should be something that you select when installing the game and not after watching a 5 minute intro and picking a character. I hope this trend isn't something that gets picked up by more developers. Not to mention that games that do this often combine it with long unskippable intro sequences. This is especially annoying when the game defaults to fullscreen mode and pauses the intro when you tab out of the it. Sorry @mods if this post is breaking any subreddit rules as it's a bit more of rant than a post that will likely result in a serious discussion. Although I'd love to hear some counterarguments to this.
TIL of Hawaii's "Forbidden Isle", an island bought by a Scottish woman for $10,000 in 1864. Access to the island or its 170 inhabitants requires special permission from the woman's great-great grandsons, who still own and control the island.

AITA for revoking my sister's access to my stuff after she took my pencils and destroyed them?
I (20F) have this hobby of drawing. I'm not very talented but I do enjoy it lots. Through the years I gathered quite some art supplies. I keep this pencil case with lots of colored pencils which my sister (14F) can use. Yet I do have sets I told her she's not allowed to use that I keep separately, because she has a tendency of destroying stuff and those are my good and expensive ones. Those ones she can use aren't bad thought, I don't buy the cheapest stuff, but I hope you get what I mean. Today I woke up to see my watercolors massacred on her desk. This set is made of pencils whose lead is soluble in water and some other qualities that make them one of my favorites sets. It was a new set, barely used and now lots of them where broken in 2, tips missing and stuff like that, made my heart sank. I spent a lot of work to get the money to buy them and now they were gone. I asked her what happened and she told me that she has an assignment to do and it's not right that I have colors she doesn't. I told her she should have asked before and not destroy them like that. It also turned up that her assignment was due in 2 weeks, so could have waited for me to wake up, and was a graphite drawing. Meaning she needed to use only the usual pencils, not colored ones. So her story was bs. I told her that what she did is stealing and that you can't go and take stuff from people just because you want it. She told me that she can take whatever she wants from me or otherwise she will ask mom. This isn't the first time she destroys something of mine, my old laptop fell to her hands and so on and so on. The following dialogue incurred: "Until you change you behavior you're not allowed to use any of my stuff, none of my colours, none of my games from Steam, nothing. Not even to take out [my bearded dragon] who you promised to help to take care of but you shirk each time it's cleaning/feeding time" "No, you're mean! And he's mine! And I'll tell mom!" "He is not yours at all. You haven't spent a cent on him or his supplies or ever took care of him, you are just playing with him when it suits you and I told you to stop picking his tail, it may not drop but it doesn't mean it's pleasant. I'll consider lifting the ban when you'll change your behavior and care about stuff. Until then, you're stuck with yours" She ran to mom who told her it's her problem to solve. She then called/texted her friends from school who are now writing hateful messages on my art page. I couldn't care less about them and I blocked them, no problem. But I can't help but think that I overreacted or have been an A to my sis. I love her but she needs to understand not everything is for her.
EDIT:
I think it would be the time to update you guys. Firstly I want to thank you all who commented. I do read them all and try to reply to most of you but sometimes I really don't know what to say. Thank you for your advice too. While I can't move out or lock my door since we share a bedroom, those lockable boxes you recommended me really look like something I should invest in. That and find a lock for my front opening terrarium. My parents have arrived home from work and this have become a bigger situation than I have anticipated. My sis is grounded for her behavior. Of course, no access to my stuff, but also her phone have been taken, no internet outside of classes and obviously no more social media. And get this, since mom recieves my sis' allowance on her card, tommorow she'll give my sis her allowance and drive us to the art store so sis will buy me a replacement set of pencils. Mom thought about also making her clean after my beardie but I argued she would use the opportunity to do something to him so she's not allowed near his terrarium. That reminds me, pet tax: https://imgur.com/a/RloY64A And in the end, lots of people asked how a 14 years old could behave like this. I wrote a more detailed explanation in a comment that I'll paste here: To explain the whole situation I would have to give you insight on our culture, as I live in the Balkans, and that would be a long read. The jist of it it's that in my extended family I'm the oldest and my sister the youngest. I had been "the helper" for everyone because I'm older. So they grew to expect my help and to me to give up on my person and be just a helper. My parents were in the same situation in their time, which caused them to leave home and marry at exactly my age. They are sympathetic to my cause but when my sister was younger they fell in the same trap as my other family. They have begun to realize their mistakes and try to change them since I was roughly 17 and I really appreciate it. My sister still gets spoiled by other relatives so to her everything it's for her. She has become the entitled kid you may read about in EP stories. I understand that for her now the most important thing is being liked by her classmates and stuff like that and that she can't understand why her parents and I "are mean to her when her grandparents and aunts/uncles are so nice". She used to destroy stuff without consequences because she was "just a kid". So she doesn't have that sense I and you have of other's belongings, especially in the family. I'm a softie and I usually backed down on me not helping her when she would do stuff like this in the past. But you know, I have had enough. I won't back down now that I have a pet in the middle of it. And since I have my parents' support (at last) on this, I don't see a way out for her except change her behavior.
Where LAOP’s landlord screws them by nailing their balcony door shut, even though the lease specifies LAOP has access to the balcony. Then, there is the whole fire exit situation, the landlord refusing to repair the balcony railing, the threats to have LAOP arrested if they go on the balcony again…
IDEA: Why don't we have access to all champions and skins in the practice tool? We should be able to have a way to not only DEMO champions, but their SKINS as well. Besides, it's JUST the PRACTICE tool.
I just don't want to go through the hassle of doing a YouTube search of a skin before spending my money on it. We should have to ability to just enter Practice Tool and try out Champions and their respective skins instead of watching a YouTube video spending 10 minutes watching the camera ever so slowly rotate around the in-game model, followed by another 10 minutes to display every skill from every camera angle possible. I'd rather spend 5 minutes hopping in Practice Tool and try the new Lee skin out and see how it looks and feels when I'm actually the one doing combos than watch YouTube highlights of streamers jizzing over how good it is. I'm not sure how easy it would be to implement this into the game, I mean, no one wants Mordekaiser or Rek'Sai to have even more bugs just because we want access to all Champions in Practice Tool. Anyway, would like to hear your thoughts in this.

Using OpenStreetMap, Google Maps, researchers find that just 8.9% of the global population cannot reach healthcare within one hour if they have access to motorized transport, and that 43.3% cannot reach a healthcare facility by foot within one hour.
With the Early Access release of Baldur's Gate 3, Larian is expecting feedback from the community to improve the game and help guide the direction of development. Now that we will have some hands-on experience with the game, we can generate well-informed feedback. Directed feedback in response to BG3 Early Access can be collected here so that it does not fall of the front page and out of sight. Separate posts to /baldursgate will not be removed by default, so feel free to create an individual post for your well thought-out suggestions or criticisms. Please also link to or copy the text of your suggestion as a top-level reply to this post so it can be preserved. Individual posts for low effort suggestions with minimal supporting details will be removed on sight. Previous pre-EA suggestions EDIT: Bug reports have been clogging up both this thread and the subreddit as a whole, so please report your bugs to the official Steam discussion board.
