Has anyone used this on a deck? I am thinking of putting a small ceder deck in my yard and this looks like a good option for attaching the decking.

Making comprehensive corn snake care guide. Comment to add input.

Hi fellow corn snake keepers. As a few of you may have noted there is about 10 of the users her that are constantly answering the same questions, and each time we are vary happy to answer, and often write out a detailed post.
To get users answers much faster we want to put together a guide that anyone can link to quickly, or search threw to find their own answers. No one really has the time to write a comprehensive guide that covers all of the details of corn snake keeping, so I am asking that people pick a topic and explain the topic in a comment, and we will add the the info to the guide under the topic or new topic.
Reptile husbandry is always getting better, and more and more information is becoming available because breeders and keepers are talking to each other on levels that were only possible 20 years ago. As we learn more about corn snake keeping we will be updating the guide.
For those of you who are already reading this guide as it evolves, please remember to check with many sources before taking actions that put the health of your pets at risk.
Equipment List
Equipment Setup
Enclosure Type There are many options to use for enclosures, but the most important aspect is safety and security of the enclosure for the snake.
  1. Clear Plastic Tote BoxesThese are the cheapest option out of all of the options. They hold humidity and heat very well, but can be damaged by over heating, or ultraviolet light over time. They are easy to modify to use heat lamps. Depending on the lid these can be the most secure enclosures to keep a corn snake. They are light weight and easy to move. If you are going to use plastics in or for your enclosure you need to learn about the different kinds of plastics to know witch is safe for your pet. The biggest downside to tote boxes is that they are ugly, but snake rack systems are basically shelves with tote boxes in them.
  2. Glass Enclosures and TanksThese seem to be the most common enclosures that keepers will use. You can buy them at most pet stores. You can find them used on Craigslist, or Facebook Marketplace. You can put a heat lamp over the top of them, and or a heat mat under them. You can use these to set up bioactive enclosures. **These look great and will double as an art peace in any room you put it in.**The down sides are few, but worth noting. Class tanks and enclosures don't hold humidity or heat well. They are heavy even when you clear them out. They are glass and can break. If you need to run a cable into the enclosure you have to go threw or around the lid if cable port holes are not built in. The cable port holes could be big enough to let a little baby corn snake out. The lid may have gaps in the corners where a little corn snake can slip out. https://i.imgur.com/mUQcS5K.png If the enclosure is front opening the door could have gaps that a little corn snake could slip out. One of the most annoying aspects of glass enclosures is that they are too expensive to want to get rid of when you upgrade to a larger size once your snake is an adult, but the larger and nicer ones have many more ways a baby corn snake can escape.
  3. Wood EnclosuresWood enclosures offer vary unique advantages, and drawbacks. 2 of the main reasons why you may choose wooden enclosures over all others is how easy they are to build, and how easy it is to get the materials. The ability to make your own enclosure any way you want it, and any size you want it is powerful. You need it to be the perfect size for where you want to put it, No Problem. You want to use a heat lamp No Problem. You want to build in a spot for a heat mat, No Problem. If you want to make a multi-level enclosure, No Problem. Wood enclosures don't need to even be fully built out of wood. You can incorporate plastics and glass into your enclosure. **Your ability to design, engineer and build your own enclosure is going to be your limitations.**Wood has a few drawbacks, and these are why most people don't use wood. Wood adsorbs moisture, and is impossible to disinfect without first sealing the wood. Your wood sealant must be safe for long term exposure once dried. Wood can be heavy, but can be vary strong. You must use reptile safe woods. I asked a bunch of breeders and they said you can even use pine, but you want to make sure it is kiln dried pine. You can never use ceder.
  4. Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Enclosures, or other PlasticsThese enclosures are much like wood enclosures will less of the drawbacks. You can buy these enclosures as a kit and have them shipped to you, or you can design them yourself. We are starting to see many more of these plastic enclosures in reptile keeping. The biggest downside is cost and availability. A 8 foot by 4 foot hardwood sheet of plywood is going to be at least half of the cost a 8 foot by 4 foot sheet of plastic of the same thickness. You can get wood at any major hardware store, but unless you live in a major industrial city you will not likely have a place where you can buy large plastic sheets.
Enclosure Size Breeders and keepers have pushed corn snake enclosures to the maximum, and to the minimum. The question of ethically is not something we want to focus here. Each keepebreeder should figure out how they want to tackle this problem, but a good rule of thumb is 1 square foot for each foot of snake.
Humidity Contributed by solarguy2003 Italicized Portions added by pokeplantsCorn Snakes are not overly fussy about humidity. Anything between 40 and 60% will work fine. This is typical house humidity, so you may not have to do anything at all. Low humidity can make it hard to get a good complete shed. High humidity can make your substrate get moldy, especially aspen. High humidity also increases the risk to the snakes for health problems like scale rot and stomatitis (mouth rot). It is ok if the humidity spikes to 85% if you are having rainy weather, or drops below 30% for a few days. Corn snakes are hardy. If the humidity is going to be kept between 55% and 70% upping the low end temperatures can help the snake deal with the higher humidity. Enclosure type can play a big roll in how much humidity is held in the enclosures. Screen top enclosures won't hold humidity very well, but plastic or wooden enclosures with a vent panel will hold humidity alot better. Plastic tote boxes hold humidity the best, and are the most prone to super high humidity. I recommend keeping 2 hydrometers in the room with your enclosures, and 2 inside your enclosures. This way you know what the base level humidity is in the room, and have 2 humidity gauges to average the humidity together to get a better idea. 6 inches closer to the water bowl, or closer to a heat lamp or mat will make a huge difference in readings. Both digital and mechanical hydrometers can fail randomly.
  1. You can mist the tank periodically.
  2. If you have a screen top, you can cover part of the screen to reduce evaporation.
  3. You can also put a dish towel over part of the screen and mist the towel rather than the bedding to avoid mold problems.
  4. You can put in a (very) high humidity hide, which is just a plastic box with a lid and a hole for the snake to get in. Put some damp sphagnum moss in the box so the snake can enjoy 90-100% humidity for a shed. That effectively gives them a humidity spectrum so they can self regulate to a degree.
  5. Cyprus, Coconut Fiber, or Coconut Husk substrate is very good at retaining moisture and humidity without going moldy.
  6. You can put in a bigger water dish, or multiple water dishes, or move the water dish to the hot side of the enclosure.
  7. A humidifier could also be added to the room if the humidity just won't get high enough.
  1. You can reduce the number, and or size of the water dishes, or move the water dish to the cool side of the enclosure.
  2. Before putting the bedding/substrate in the tank, you can dry it out in the oven set on "warm" which is typically 150F. Occasionally turning the bedding in the oven will speed up the drying.
  3. You can put a tiny fan on or around your enclosure. I would recommend a computer cooling fan placed on the screen of the enclosure to pull the air out.
  4. Switching to a heat lamp, or a ceramic heat emitter rather then heat mat will lower the humidity significantly.
  5. Perhaps you and your snakes deserve dehumidifier or a room air conditioner which can also help you regulate tank temperatures.

My concept for Age of Mythology 2

My concept for Age of Mythology 2
I don't really know if Microsoft has an interest in revisiting this franchise, but they certainly seem to have big plans for Age of Empires considering the well received Definitive Editions and the new game coming out eventually. As sloppy as Tale of the Dragon ended up being, it was new content and it might suggest that they are aware of the franchise and might want to do something with it in the future.
With that in mind it would be interesting to see what could be done in a sequel, especially what particular mythologies could be utilized in the game. So Here are my thoughts for what a sequel could look like.
Certain gameplay elements are either abandoned or reverted back to how things worked in AoE2, in part because I feel like it tended to better define roles and encourage more aggressive play. For example there are no parallels to the Egyptians not using wood for buildings since I feel like that ultimately expunged an element to the Age Of games that was too well established, and made wood, a major resource, comparatively unimportant until you start blasting out chariots for Egyptians in particular. Additionally farms require a constant input of wood to continue to produce food, and you can't infinitely trade from your own market to a TC, all resources on the map (except favor) are finite to some degree or another, fish for example will run out and force you to send your ships further afield, and its crucial to do things like secure major sources of gold. I think it would work well to better define the roles of resources, so wood is mostly for ships, archers and buildings. Food is mostly for military units, particularly cavalry, villagers and upgrades. Gold is for higher grade versions of things like military units and improvements, especially crucial age ups and major military upgrades. Finally Favor is used for things that are supernatural and mythological in nature, Myth units, God Powers and Mythological upgrades you get from major and minor Gods.
A variation of the animal pen is introduced from Age of Empires 3. This acts as an alternative way of producing food to the farm. Its physically fairly big, about the size of a 2X2 farm and looks like a field with a fence around it and a trough to feed the animals. Tasking animals into the pen will cause them to fatten and reproduce over time, they will not do either outside the pen. To keep them reproducing you need to stock the pen regularly with feed, which costs wood and gold. A limited number of animals can be tasked into the pen initially, depending on their size (ie 10 chickens, 6 goats and 4 cows). Over time they'll reproduce, so you see things like calves and kids alongside their mothers, when fully grown it will count as a new animal, and go over the animal limit, as a result the fattest animal already in the pen will leave and stay outside. This animal can either be killed for food or assigned to a new pen. A villager can also be assigned to a pen, they will take care of the animals and exploit them for things like eggs and milk. This will speed up fattening and reproduction further and add a trickle of food so long as the villager is there and the pen does not run out of feed, though its not as much as you would get from a normal farm. Some civs, notably the celts, get bonuses to animal pens, others like the Indians are much more restricted. The overall concept is meant to offer an alternative to making farms, it requires more micromanagement but can offer better returns, but probably should be used in addition to farms instead of as a replacement to them. Military units can run over the pen like it were a farm, as such they are prime raiding targets for the enemy to either kill or steal animals and damage your economy. New animals can be 'trained' from a pen even if nothing is there, at the cost of some food, if you want to start the process again. Alternatively you can just ignore the mechanic and simply kill and eat any herdables as soon as you get them.
God powers are reusable (how many uses depending on balance) for all civilizations from the start. However, to use a god power will require the expenditure of some favor, the amount depending on either the age you are in or the overall power of the GP. Archaic age powers may be exempt from this so that players can ensure a smooth early game. Reusing god powers costs more favor every time, i.e. the Bronze power initially costs 25 favor, but the second time it costs 50 favour, and the third 75 and so on, this helps balance mythic age powers since the cost to use them goes above the maximum amount of favor you can store after the first one or two uses. Generally speaking, favor is something you will want to spend all of the time, but never quite have enough to do everything you want with it, forcing some strategic decisions.
Now for the particular civilizations and their characteristics. I've decided that I think it would be a good idea to try and vary things up a bit in terms of the represented mythologies. Greeks, Egyptians and Norse are always people's go to options when it comes to ancient mythology, especially in the western world, but there's a lot more that could be done to make somewhat lesser known mythologies more prominent. As a result the only returning civilization is the Greeks, but a lot of the quirks and gameplay elements from the Norse and Egyptians are used within the other civilizations.

Greeks

Side note, I love the way that when I type in 'Zeus' to google image search this AOM depiction is one of the most common hits.
Can't really get away from the Greeks, just too iconic, even in the original Age of Mythology they effectively took up two civilizations (much to my chagrin honestly) with the inclusion of the Atlanteans. I would imagine it would consist of the usual triad of Zeus, Hades and Poseidon with the voluminous amount of minor gods, maybe ones that haven't been used so much like Thanatos, Eris and Demeter. Add to that the usual complement of myth units like Cyclopes and Centaurs and you're away.
Greeks are essentially 'Vanilla' when it comes to the overall mechanics, closely aligning with previous Age Of games, including Age of Mythology. Villagers build buildings, collect resources at the default rate, cavalry countering Hoplites come from the barracks, archer countering Hippikon come from the Stable, that sort of thing. One thing to note however, is that Greeks tend to have the best fortifications in the game, with the most powerful walls and towers, so they are a bit defensive minded.
Favor mechanic: Same as previous game, villagers pray at the temple.
Hero mechanic: Same as the previous game, the player creates individual heroes famous from Greek Mythology, one in each age.
Scout mechanic: Same as previous game, start with dedicated scout cavalry unit with good speed and Line of Sight, later has access to Pegasus.

Hoplites are the backbone of a good Greek army
Example human units:
Similar to the last game Greek soldiers are fairly well rounded in most basic roles without notable departures or quirks.
-Hoplite: Heavy infantry, reasonably fast and good against cavalry. Available from Classical age.
-Phalangite: Even heavier than a Hoplite, their speed is pretty bad, but they counter cavalry harder. They also have a small amount of range on their spears that allow Phalangites in two layers to attack simultaneously (like the Kamayuk in AOE2), but their speed and low pierce armor makes them real sitting ducks for archers. Available from Heroic age.
-Slinger: Light archer, only good against infantry, but cheaper than other archers. Available from Classical age.
-Toxotes: Heavier archer, good against infantry, more well rounded compared to the slinger but also more expensive and has later availability. Available from Heroic age
-Hetairoi: Heavy cavalry, good against archers and siege. Available from Classical age. Fulfills the same function as the Hippikon and available for all major gods.
-Prodromoi: Light cavalry, only good against archers. Unlike the previous incarnation they are slightly ranged, throwing javelins at the enemy like a Turma. Their range is very short though, and they have little armor or health so need to rely on their speed to get away, but they still have some additional use in attacking villagers. Available from Heroic age.
-Helepolis: Siege weapon. A large tower with more health and power than other siege, but also more expense. Short ranged attacks against both buildings and units. Available from Mythic Age.

This Etruscan statue is a particularly famous depiction of a Chimera!
Example myth units:
Many of the myth units are recurring with similar abilities, stats and appearance as previously, like Minotaurs, Cyclopes, Centaurs, Chimera and Hydra. I would make some changes though, some units that the Atlanteans have like the Nereid or Hecatoncheires are moved to the Greeks, same with some Eastern units added or removed. Other units are changed to be a bit more accurate to the legends. I will note some changes here.
-Minotaur: Classical age myth unit, unchanged.
-Cyclops: Classical age myth unit, unchanged.
-Centaur: Classical age myth unit, unchanged.
-Hydra: Heroic age myth unit, unchanged.
-Chimera: Heroic age myth unit, now one age down, possibly with nerfed stats to account for their earlier appearance, similar mechanics though.
-Nereid: Heroic age myth unit, now available to the Greeks, I'm not sure if they should still ride sharks, it would probably be a bit more fitting if they ride Hippocampus. Either way they are mechanically different, Nereids now move underneath the water's surface, this makes them immune to ranged attack and abilities cast from afar when not fighting, they must be engaged within melee range to be brought to the surface, where they can then be targeted by any unit. They have considerable melee attack but no longer have the special ability to do a lot of damage and are still very brittle without much health or armor. Basically they can be very sneaky and powerful in the right circumstance but need a lot of micro to get the best out of them.
-Satyr: Heroic age myth unit, now Greek rather than Atlantean, mostly unchanged, but has a shorter range and a new special ability, evoking the drunken ribaldry associated with Satyrs and Dionysus they can make friendly units more aggressive, holding up some enchanted wine he tosses into a crowd of friendlies that buffs their attack for a short time, similar to the Einherjar. Associated with Dionysus.
-Phoenix: Mythic age myth unit, now Greek rather than Egyptian, otherwise unchanged.
-Gorgon: Mythic age myth unit, visually changed, she no longer has the back half of a snake to avoid confusion with the Indian Naga, this visual quirk wasn't really a thing with the ancient Greeks regardless, it seems to be a 20th century trope. She may support herself with a number of snakes coming from below, like Gwyndolin in Dark Souls. Apart from that and the name (Gorgon is the collective, Medusa was an individual) they are identical in gameplay terms compared to the old version.
-Scylla: Mythic age myth unit. Instead of just being a water version of the Hydra, Scylla is dramatically different, being much closer to the myth. She's now a woman with 6 heads equipped with shark's teeth at the end of long necks, a torso made up of 6 dog heads, and 12 tentacles. Her special attack sees her conjure up a large whirlpool that does a lot of damage over a large area of effect.
-Hecatoncheires: Mythic age myth unit. Now Greek rather than Atlantean. Identical to the Heka Gigantes in terms of stats and abilities, only difference is even more arms and heads.
Example God Powers:
Similar to the Myth Units, some carry over, some changes
-Underworld riches: Archaic age power. Creates a gold mine, more gold if used in later ages, identical to Thor's Dwarven mine.
-Bolt: Archaic age power. Identical to last game, kills a unit of your choice.
-Urban expansion: Classical age power. Buildings cost -33% resources and are built 200% faster, can be useful for throwing down a fortress in a very aggressive position or quickly rebuilding a town.
-Restoration: Classical age power. Identical to last game, heals units in area cast.
-Curse: Heroic age power. Identical to last game, some enemy units are turned into pigs.
-Bronze: Heroic age power. Identical to last game, turns human soldier's skin to bronze to improve their armor for a while.
-Lightning Storm: Mythic age power. Identical to last game, mass lightning strikes that kill units but do little damage to structures.
-Chaos: Mythic age power. Eris's influence plunges an area into chaos, all building and units are randomized between the players in the game within the chosen area. This is best used on an enemy army with minimum amount of your own troops in the mix to get the most potential switches.

Mesopotamians

The Burney Relief, possibly represents Inanna or her sister Ereshkigal, the queen of the underworld
A fanciful representation of ancient Babylon
In my idea for AOM2, the Mesopotamians would take the place of Egyptians, offering a bit of a different flavor and featuring a lesser seen mythology from people in a fairly similar geographic area. This would be based off of a wide range of people and their mythologies that had considerable influence on each other, including the Sumerians, Akkadians, Canaanites, Assyrians, Babylonians and Persians. Possibilities for major gods range from the likes of Inanna (Ishtar), Marduk, Enki and Ashur, and minor gods could include Enlil, Ninshubur and many others. Myths such as the Epic of Gilgamesh provide a great basis for their identity and content.
Visually this civ would take on some of the most iconic elements of ancient Mesopotamia such as the vast Ziggurats and the legendary Hanging Gardens of Babylon (good ideas for wonders imo), they have excellent fortifications on the whole. Human units would be based on things like the famous Persian Immortals or the formidable Assyrian army with their early siege engines, they are the most siege capable civ of all, in part because of their favor mechanic, and uniquely can train siege units in the Classical age. Also curly beards, ya gotta have curly beards.
Mesopotamians, similar to the Norse, use foot soldiers for constructing buildings rather than villagers. Their villagers overall are weaker than other civilizations, with less health, but have an advantage in having an Ox-cart system for drop offs, also like the Norse, which grants some flexibility. Generally the Mesopotamians are trying to balance being highly aggressive early on with their need to keep their squishy villagers safe. To that end they can station some soldiers in their base to keep an eye of things and construct fortifications, or send soldiers forward to build bases close to the enemy and keep the fight close to them.
Favor mechanic: Conquest, civilizations like the Assyrians and Akkadians were famous for being some of the first city conquerors in history, in a region where controlling a city could have major religious importance. To that end the Mesopotamians get a trickle of favor for controlling town centers (like the Atlanteans, but overall less), but get a much larger amount of favor for damaging and destroying major enemy buildings, especially military production buildings, fortresses and town centers. This is meant to nudge the player towards an aggressive siege approach when playing Mesopotamians, and do something slightly similar to the Norse in the first game where they would farm favor off of combat.
Hero mechanic: Mesopotamian units that kill other units in battle have a chance to randomly become an Immortal, elite variants on the type of unit they are (infantry, cavalry or archer). This substantially increases their stats and turns them into a hero unit with the associated perks. A unit's chance to transform is effected by multiple factors, including the amount of units they have killed (increasing with every one), the quality of units they kill (better against more expensive units) and the amount of immortals that are already present (the likelihood of a transformation occurring drops off sharply as more are present, usually capping things off at around 10). Killing hostile wildlife will also count towards creating an Immortal, this can be useful for getting an early game hero, but only really works for making one hero before it becomes extremely inefficient.
Scout mechanic: Similar to the Atlanteans you start the game with three 'Astronomers' and have the option to build more. They have the same mechanic as the Atlantean Oracle, but have the additional ability, when their LOS is at maximum, to build a 'star sentry' tower on the location they are standing. This is a building like the Egyptian Obelisk that will maintain that line of sight until destroyed, it has very little health, and for the Mesopotamians costs a bit more than the Egyptian Obelisk, at 30 wood. The Mesopotamians also start with a military spear-man to build buildings, but their LOS is too restricted to really be useful scouts.
The Assyrian empire was one of the first true empires in world history and responsible for many military innovations.
Example human units:
Mesopotamians have some good archers and elite cavalry, but fall down on infantry options where they go for numbers over quality. They tend to be weighted towards late game power, for example they can only start to train cavalry in the Heroic age. They do gain early access to siege though.
-Chariot archer: They have the same name as the Egyptian unit and are similar in appearance and expense, but overall a bit different. Where the Egyptian Chariots were the backbone of their army Mesopotamian chariots are a more supportive unit, they have less range and better operate in a hit and run role like the Cavalry archers of other AOE games rather than as frontline troops. Available from the Heroic age.
-Median Cavalry: Light horsemen, they have excellent speed and great attack but can't stand up to resistance for long due to weak armor and health. Best used to chase down small groups or archers, killing siege and for raiding the enemy economy. Available from Heroic age.
-Cataphract: Probably the heaviest cavalry unit in the game that's not an elephant, Cataphracts are encased in armor so have excellent resistance to melee attack, to go along with their attack and speed (though they are slower than most cavalry). They are particularly effective against infantry, unlike most cavalry units, so probably need to be focused down with archers or other tough cavalry units. Very expensive too. Available from the Mythic age.
-Composite Bowman: An excellent archer unit, compared to other foot archers it has better range and fire rate, which makes it especially effective in the Classical age. This is offset by being a lot more expensive compared to similar archers. Decimates infantry. Available from Classical age.
-Skirmisher: Counter archer javelin thrower like the Peltast. Best option the Mesopotamians have to deal with archers early on, but really have no other purpose beyond this and quickly outclassed by their cavalry options. Available in the Classical age.
-Spearman: Expendable infantry, only good against cavalry. Cheap and easy to mass, despite being quite a bit weaker compared to other infantry. Available from Classical age.
-Axeman: Expendable infantry, only good against other infantry, like the Egyptian Axeman. You'd probably want to go for the Composite Bowman in most cases but the Axeman has an upside in being extremely cheap, acting as a trash unit when gold is gone. Available from Classical age.
-Siege engine: A battering ram covered in animal hide, with a raised section in front. Fires arrows at enemy units and uses the ram to tear down walls. Good against buildings. Available from classical age.
The Lamassu
Example Myth units:
-Lamassu: Classical age myth unit. Occupying a role similar to the Sphinx for the Egyptians, the Lamassu are protective creatures composed of a man's head, bird's wings, and a lion or bull's body. They are powerful units, especially for the Classical age, and their presence can temporarily buff surrounding friendly unit's armour.
-Alû: Classical age myth unit. Succubus like creatures with no mouth or ears that the Akkadians and Sumerians were quite terrified of, these were said to have put people to sleep in order to drain them of their energy. In game, Alu are pretty feeble in most combat stats, especially health and damage, but have the useful ability to stun multiple units for a time, opening them up for attack.
-Scorpion Man: Heroic age myth unit. Funnily enough, although Scorpion men were already used for the Egyptians in the first AOM, its actually more accurate to use them for the Mesopotamians, since they appear much more frequently in Akkadian stories and symbolism. Visually modified to fit into the Akkadian style (they tended to put wings on everything, and, as mentioned, curly beards), these Scorpion men have similar attributes to the Egyptian ones, powerful close range fighters with a poison sting attack.
-Manticore: Heroic age myth unit. Wow, another mythological creature from AOM1 where it would work better as a Mesopotamian creature! The Manticore is actually Persian in origin, though most of the surviving records are from Greeks. Generally they back up the description of it being a lion like creature with the face of a man, a voice like a trumpet and a scorpion like tail that can shoot spikes. I would probably have it mostly the same as in AOM1 because of this.
-Asag: Heroic age myth unit. A humanoid creature with three arms and three legs, no neck and eyes throughout its body, said to be so hideous its appearance boiled fish alive in rivers. Also said to have tough, rock like skin and is assisted in battle by its similar offspring. As such, its got good defensive stats, especially armor, but pretty basic attack. When it dies it leaves behind two weaker offspring to continue the battle, like a Promethean. Associated with Ninurta.
-Kulullû: Heroic age Myth unit. A merperson, male or female, front half of a human, bottom half of a fish. Kululla have the ability to heal damaged units, especially ships, and can attack naval units with their lance, though they aren't too powerful in combat, similar to the servant. Kulullu's presence will also cause your fishing and trading ships to work faster. Associated with Tiamat.
-Apkallu: Mythic age myth unit. Mysterious sages with bird's heads, non-functional wings and the scales of a fish, they frequently appear in Akkadian and Assyrian art and literature. They have a modest ranged attack where they burn enemies with a heavenly ray of light but some powerful abilities, notably they are capable of healing friendly units and have a 'silence' special ability. This prevents other hostile myth and hero units from using their special abilities, and even briefly blocks god powers from being cast. Finally they can teleport to anywhere on the map you have line of sight on. Associated with Enki.
-Anzu: Mythic age myth unit. A flipped Hieracosphinx, with the head of a lion and the body of a giant eagle. A powerful flying unit, the Anzu flies over the battlefield and attacks similar to a phoenix with an odd combination of fire and water blasting from its mouth. Anzu has a special ability where he can significantly buff the speed of friendly units beneath him.
-Humbaba: Mythic age myth unit. A terrifying guardian of the Cedar forest, the home of the gods, this creature is said to have had the paws of a lion, the feet of a hawk, a body covered in thorns, human entrails for a face(!), large horns and a snake for both the tail and penis (the last part will probably not be featured on the in-game model!). One of the most powerful myth units in the game, and suitably expensive, Humbaba possess a special ability called 'terrorize', when active this causes up to 5 enemy human units to lose morale and break, shown by very briefly falling out of the control of their owner and trying to run in a direction away from the Humbaba, unable to attack while terrorized. The effect of this power is very short, but it can be really useful to turn a fight in your favor if timed right. Associated with the sun god Utu.
Example God Powers:
-Ceder Forest: Archaic age power. Creates a patch of rich forest, similar to Gaia's power. Can block off areas.
-Prosperity: Archaic age power. Increases gold gather rate from all sources, similar to Isis's power.
-Whirlwind: Classical age power. Enlil's wind allows you to teleport some units to where you want, depending on line of sight of course. Like Ptah's shifting sand it works on either allies or enemies.
-Grasp of the underworld: Classical age power. When used on a certain location said area will be infested with Gallu, demons who drag victims down to the underworld. This acts as an instant kill on the unfortunate unit dragged down, similar to Leto's Spider's lair.
-Tower of Babel: Heroic age power. Transforms your town center into a great structure, similar to the Sekhmet's Citadel. However this tower notably also has a stupendous line of sight.
-Locust Swarm: Heroic age power. Calls forth a devastating locust swarm that destroys farms and damages and kills villagers and livestock, identical to Hathor's ability.
-Demonic Rift: Mythic age power. Identical to Hecate's power, creates a rift to the underworld that will destroy structures and blurt out powerful demons where it is placed.
-Divine Immortality: Mythic age power, a single unit, or a small group of units depending on balance, can be chosen to become truly immortal. In this case they will not die no matter what, and endlessly fight against the enemy and bleed them of units and resources for no loss. If this is too much they may possibly get knocked unconsciousness like campaign heroes and revived if the area is occupied by allies. Best used on the most powerful myth and hero units.

Local lumber yard

building more garden boxes in preparation for next year, and the prices on ceder or other good outdoor lumber at Lowes and Home Depot are more than I want to pay.
I was hoping to use a local lumber mill / yard to source the planks I need, any recommendations on local places that deal with home owners?
I've seen Valente Lumber, Hankle Lumber, and Little Falls Lumber all seem like good options from what I can see.
update I got a quote from Hankle Lumber, $4.50 per board for 1x6 Hemlock.

I've had a few friends that were disfellowed, labeled apostate (or something like that) It's more common than you think, and they aren't all completely cut off from their families. My two friends that both left, both are still strongly connected to their parents and their siblings.

Hello! I'm from the ex-JW subforum. JW's are a cult, and as such they've been getting a lot of press in the past few years because of their child sexual abuse cover-ups and scandals, much like the Catholic Church years ago, except WORSE!!! The Australian Royal Commission really raked them over the coals, and here in the USA they've been getting sued non-stop it seems. People are also leaving in droves, especially the youth. Cults such as the JW's, Mormons, and Scientology are finally being exposed as the charlatans and evil mutherfuggers that they are.

My PIMI husband says that him being a JW makes him a better person because Jehovah guides him. His god guides him to shun nonbelievers (except me but I’m treated like a second class citizen) to express hate toward other religions and lgbtq. Jehovah guides him to bother people with his toxic religion by going to houses, cemeteries and street corners uninvited. To impose health rules while he has no background at all, but his god knows better than a “worldly “ doctor.
He’s basically an asshole.

I agree with you but for many JWs in that situation the threat of being shunned on top of disappointing their god and not making it into their paradise is enough to keep them from questioning and loyal to the end.
Also It's not my club anymore.

Where was this? You said mum, so I'm wondering if this is the UK? Not familiar with the laws there. In the US (in my state anyway), a JW parent thankfully can not refuse life saving treatment for their child.
E.g. you bring your kid to the emergency dept after he's been shot. I want to transfuse blood. You say no. I politely tell you to fuck off, give the blood and save your kid's life. No court order required.

That is how JWs work. Everything outside of their own teachings is considered an attack on their faith. They are almost always talking about how the demons and humans are constantly persecuting them. This works to insulate their believers from voices of logic, and when something gets to enough of them their "governing body" will issue a "New Light" decree that says something like, "Oh no, we've been teaching this the wrong way, Jehovah has explain it to us better."
Once new light has been issued, the Watchtower Society erases every mention of what they used to say from their libraries and teachings. Most JWs don't know that back in the early 1900's the Watchtower Society taught that Jehovah lived in heaven which was located on the Dog star in the Pleiades system. But if you tell them that now, even show them the few remaining books that weren't destroyed, they will call it a lie/persecution/demonic attack/etc.

Jehovah’s Witnesses are instructed to not read or watch anything that isn’t approved by the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society.
Wt, 6/1/1967, pg 338,
"...in Jehovah’s organization it is not necessary to spend a lot of time and energy in research, for there are brothers in the organization who are assigned to that very thing."
[Tony Morris (2015 Annual Meeting)]Jehovah’s Witness Governing Body Member Tony Morris III telling Jehovah’s Witnesses to only stick with what they have approved.

This Letter for the Body of Elders concerning binding the elders book was sent from the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society as there was a lapse in elders allowing others to see this book, even just for binding it.
This is the latest Shepherding the Flock of God 2019 Edition. It wasn’t released at the time of the ARC, but it was leaked February 2019 and may be informative in what changes there are into comparison to the one released during the ARC.

Here’s a video (2:30 minute mark) at a annual meeting where a shunning video was released iirc.
So what the Jehovah’s Witnesses and their leaders at the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society are doing is saying publicly that shunning doesn’t break up families, but internally amongst the group it really does. It is used as a way to keep control.

No matter what false teachers say, we will not follow them! We have no reason to listen to people who are like wells with no water. Those who listen to them will be disappointed. We are determined to be loyal to Jehovah and to his organization. This organization has never disappointed us and always gives us an abundance of pure waters of truth from God’s Word. — Isaiah 55:1-3; Matthew 24:45 Watchtower 2011 July 15 p.12 para. 8 Simplified Ed.

Someone needs to post the video of their governing body member Anthony Morris expressing glee that all nonJWs will become burnt hotdogs at Armageddon. Or his tight pants talk.

As an exjw, you could not possibly be more wrong. They don't even believe in hell. At all.
so dying is a far better option
No, theyre just dying to stay "loyal" to their silly organization and God so that they can be resurrected into a paradise earth.
Like these people are fucking stupid
Careful not to confuse intelligence with brainwashing. Even very smart people can be manipulated and brainwashed.

I used to work with a JW who carried a card around in his wallet that said he refused any blood transfusion. He was also so paranoid about his health that he spent more time at the doctor than anyone I know. Constantly worrying about everything. Last I heard he had a midlife crisis, divorced his wife, abandoned the family and married an ex-girlfriend because he has no idea how much time he has left on this earth and needs to live a little. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Howlbound chapter 2 (mock werewolf book)

HOWLBOUND
Warning! This story will contain adult language, themes, death and gore.
(Please do read previous chapter first)
Chapter 2: Swiftcurrent
I was by a campfire somewhere nestled in the mountains. There was more people than what I knew what to do with. I had a feeling that they didn’t bring me here just for show.
There were several sets of eyes intensely focused on me. Not knowing if I was dangerous or a friend.
It is probably 4 in the morning and the sky was still dark.
My mind going back to the event that happened roughly an hour earlier.
________________
As the standoff continued, the younger wolf suddenly attacked me with snapping jaws and claws drawn. His snarl and angry eyes meeting mine.
With great strength I (Timed choice)
  1. Throw him off me
  2. Trip him
  3. Bit him.
(If you don’t choose anything you will do nothing)
The wolf kept going and going never once relenting. It might have only been a few minutes but it felt like hours.
But I didn’t count on the older one to come to my rescue. The Younger brown wolf let out a whine as the older grey pulled him back by biting into the skin of his neck. Forcing him to let me go.
I scrambled out of the grasp and kept myself ready to fight or run depending on how the altercation would go.
But once again something in me told me not to run, that I needed to stay put.
The grey wolf finally relinquished his hold of his companion. The younger of them where snarling, angry for being interrupted.
But it did not attack the older wolf.
The older wold than did something surprising.
As he shrank, his claws became nails, his fur was now gone and a middle age man with pale skin and greying hair stood before me. But those eyes where the same as in his wolf form.
???: “You have no need to fear me.”
Cedric Grimm: “My name is Cedric Grimm.”
________
That was how I ended up here in front of this Cedric Grimm and a very agitated Chase Hyde.
Cederic Grimm: “I’m guessing you have quite a lot of questions. Since you didn’t grow up in a pack or around werewolves.”
Cedric Grimm: “I would gladly answer any question you might have.”
Ripley: I do have some questions
  1. Who are you and all these people?
  2. Why did you come to my rescue?
  3. Are there others like you?
  4. How does a pack work?
  5. What do you do?
  6. How come this isn’t common knowlage?
· Next
· Done
(Question 1)
Cedric Grimm: “We are the members of the Swiftcurrent pack, we have been here for generations. We are a pack of werewolves that has made it our home and mission to protect our area.”
Ripley Foster: “Protect it from what?”
Cedric Grimm: “From thing that want to harm it.”
______
(Question 2)
Cedric Grimm: “The boy acted out of line, he acted on impulses rather than thinking. I will not allow my pack to attack someone unless we have a good reason. You made no move to attack us and you were only aggressive in response to Chase.”
Ripley Foster: “Thank you.”
Cedric Grimm: “You are very welcome”
-------
(Question 3)
Cedric Grimm: Of course there are, you can find packs anywhere if you know where to look.
Ripley Foster: “Then how come I never run into any back home in Miami?”
Cedric Grimm: “Did you live in the inner city?”
Ripley Foster: “Yes.”
Cedric Grimm: “That is probably why. Heightened senses in a city like that it would be a nightmare, sensory overload if you stay to long. Most werewolves tend to stick to dense forests and small communities since nature does call us back. There is also the heat to consider, us wolves have quite thick coats. Not a lot of wolves thrive in too hot climate.”
----------
(Question 4)
Cedric Grimm: “The pack is led by an Alpha pair. They are the ones that are responsible for the pack, both in a final say and as the providers of discipline shall the need arise.”
Cedric Grimm: “There are also the roles within the pack. Hunters, scouts, medics, guards. We ensure that the pack is alive and well kept. Just like in nature a balance need to be kept. A pack with no leader will lack direction. A pack with only warriors would lead to carnage and infighting.”
Ripley Foster: “So it is a lot like a normal wolf pack.”
Cedric Grimm: “There are quite a few similarities, but I can assure you. I have not fathered everyone here.”
The last part he said with a chuckle with I noticed a few rolled their eyes at the comment.
__________
(Question 5)
Cedric Grimm: “There is a side of life that few people know about. Powerful beings that might want to bring chaos and harm upon the world.”
Cedric Grimm: “Our mission is to ensure that humans do not seek these beings out and that the beings do not seek out the humans. The world of the supernatural is not one to be trifled with.”
Cedric Grimm: “The power of nature and the supernatural are volatile, if you allow it to feed on you as a way to wield it. It might consume you, just like how a small spark might start an uncontrollable forest fire. “
_________
(Question 6)
Cedric Grimm: “We can never expose what we are to the world. The consequences would become dire, also I fear that if they knew what we are capable of they would take the pups and turn them into weapons. Humans at large aren’t ready for us.”
Ripley Foster: “So there are no humans that know werewolves exist?”
Cedric Grimm: “There are, but most that look into our world would not survive or accept it. There are however exceptions to every rule.”
Cedric Grimm: “There are also wolves that decide to live more like humans than wolves.”
----------------
Ripley Foster: “I just wonder, why didn’t I know about my ability to turn into that?”
Cedric Grimm: “It is possible that one of your grandparents or an older generation abandoned the pack life to live as none magical humans. And if they kept picking none-magical partners the werewolf gene could be passed on but dormant till something activated it.”
Ripley Foster: “Is that common?”
Cedric Grimm: “To have an ancestor that decided to become a lone wolf or leave their pack, it happens from time to time.”
Cedric Grimm: “But the fact that you didn’t know about your werewolf gene is however rare.”
Cedric Grimm: “More often than not werewolves can smell one another from miles away. And even those that abandoned their pack will either join a new one or stay in proximity to werewolves both as a way to keep in contact with their inner beast and to allow their young to choose if they want to become part of the pack or not.”
Cedric Grimm: “The wolf is a part of you. It is both a blessing and a curse, depending on how you see it. It will have instincts and it is up to you to either reject or follow it.”
Cedric looked at me with those blue eyes, it was a similar look my mom and dad would give me whenever I was frustrated about something, the ‘I understand and I know it is rough’, but it wasn’t pity. He looked around for a bit and then called out to someone.
Cederic Grimm: “Tea.”
With that a young woman stepped forward. She was dressed in a thick leather jacket and a loose T-shirt, blue jeans and her thick boots made a determined sound as she moved closer. Around her neck hung something that looked like an arrowhead with a paw print of an wolf. Her hair was black and was short but with long bangs and dangling sideburn and she had deep brown almond eyes with a beauty mark under her left eye. Her lips where thin and there was an air around her that screamed power.
Tea? : “Yes Chief?”
Cederic Grimm: “I want you to take young Ripley here and show *him/her* our territory.” (Depends on your characters gender)
Chase Hyde: “Uncle you can’t be serious! You are going to show a complete and utter stranger our turf? What the hell!”
Chase keeps giving me the evil eye, expecting me to reveal a knife and try to stab someone any second.
Cedric Grimm: “It is not your choice to decide what I do with a newcomer. Remember your place Chase.”
The man was calm and eloquent yet firm, you were not to question the man. I certainly felt that he knew what he was talking about.
Tea?:”You coming?”
The woman had already turned getting ready to walk away from the impending argument that was probably brewing between Chase and Cedric.
Ripley Foster: “Yeah I think I’ll follow you.”
With that you surely heard growling as you left the camp fire.
_____
For some time the only thing that was heard where the sound of nature and our footsteps. I looked like a dishevelled mess, my sleeping clothes torn and barefoot. But she made no move to speak to me.
Should I be the one to break the silence?
Tea?: “You know you popping up from out of nowhere has caused quite a stir.”
She said in an aloof tone, was it an observation or a threat?
Ripley Foster: “You live at a national park for craps sake. I’m quite sure that you get quite a lot of hiker and whatnot.”
Tea?: “That may be but they often come during seasons. You come here from hundreds of miles away to the middle of nowhere. Most people would flee from sleepy towns like this and into the big city.”
Before I knew it she made a sharp turn and had her hand stuck out to me.
Tea Carey: “My name is Te-a Carey.”
She emphasized on the ‘a’ at the end.
I took her hand, I could feel the callous palms and firm grip as our hands shook.
Ripley Foster: “Ripley Foster.”
Her brown eyes went over me sizing me up. Perhaps trying to see if Chase reaction to Cedric’s request was justified. However she seemed to be calm, perhaps she is more powerful than she lets on.
Tea Carey: “I do apologize for Chase. The idiot means well but he is a pain sometimes.”
Ripley Foster: ”What does he have against me? I mean I just got here.”
Tea Carey: “A lone wolf coming into another packs territory is something to be concerned with. You do not know what their intentions are. Chase however takes any unknown werewolf as a declaration of war. Especially after what happened a few months back.”
She said not elaborating.
*Earlier Diamond choice*
*Ripley Foster: “You mean the incident with the former park ranger that was driven mad, and quit his job?”*
* Tea Carey: ”Collins told you about that? I’m surprised, Officer often keep any and all information to himself.”*
* Ripley Foster: “I kind of refused to let it slide till he told me. I take it the creature was a werewolf.”*
* Tea Carey: “Most likely, there has been lone wolves going around in our territory for months now.”*
Ripley Foster: “So what is your story?”
Tea Carey: “I was born more or less into the pack. Both my parents were werewolves.”
Ripley Foster: “So you never knew anything besides this?”
Tea Carey: “That’s true, contrary to what most stories and movies have you believe, we do not all roam the countryside eating women and children.”
Ripley Foster: “Then what do you do?”
Tea Carey: “Trying to survive.”
Ripley Foster: “Are you always that short in your answers?”
Tea Carey: “Beating around the bush is not my strong suit.”
Ripley Foster: “So it’s a yes then.”
I mumbled for myself, but I knew she probably heard it. Sensitive ears had its perks after all.
Tea Carey: “the territory that we Swiftcurrent are keeping an eye on covers most of the Park. Our territory stretches almost to the Canadian border and down to Flathead lake.”
Ripley Foster: “Are all werewolf territories that big?”
Tea Carey: “No, some are quite a bit smaller.”
Tea Carey: “It all comes down to what the alpha prioritizes. Glory or security.”
Ripley Foster: “The way Cedric talked earlier, are all packs like yours. I get the feeling he is only telling me half of what is going on.”
Tea Carey: “That he did, but if he tried to give you the entire rundown on werewolf lore and culture you would be sitting at the campfire till next week. That and he likes to sound sagely.”
Ripley Foster: “Thank you for the clarification.”
Once again we fell silent, that was until I yelped in pain. I was still barefoot. The rocks where really cutting into the bottom of my feet.
Tea Carey: “We can’t continue up with you like that. The rest of the way is a lot steeper and harder.”
Ripley Foster: “Perhaps we should end the tour now.”
Tea Carey: “We could or…”
Tea Carey: “You want me to show you what it really feels like to be a wolf?”
Ripley Foster: “What exactly do you mean with that?”
Tea Carey: “You had your first transformation last night, I take it you still run on instinct. We will need to change that.”
Ripley Foster: “How did you know it was my first transformation?”
Tea Carey: “I grew up in a pack, I have both experienced and seen what a newly transformed werewolf looks like. You are a greenhorn I can tell.”
Tea Carey: So… you want to see the world as a wolf?
  1. Yes, show me. (20 💎)
  2. I don’t think it’s a good idea.
Diamon choices
Tea Carey: “Well what do you know? I thought you would back down.”
Ripley Foster: “I am new to this, that doesn’t mean I am scared.”
Tea Carey: “Well I guess I’ll have to be the judge on that.”
She was circling me, almost as if she was sizing me up.
Ripley:”Tea..”
1. “Like what you see?”
2. “What are you doing?”
Tea Carey: “We you aren’t half bad, healthy, quite a bit of muscle mass.” *Choice 1\*
Ripley Foster: “You know if you wanted to check out my ass you could have just said so.” *Choice 1\*
Tea Carey: “Duly noted.” ❤ *Choice 1\*
Tea Carey: “Seeing what I have to work with, most newly turned are often a bit younger than you.” *Choice 2\*
Ripley Foster: “Wait, are you calling me an old man/maid?”*Choice 2\*
Tea Carey: “In this situation, yes.” *Choice 2\*
With her ‘inspection’ finished she step in front of us hands on her hips and was watching me almost as if she suspected that something was going to happen. I felt nervous and as I reached to scratch my arm, but as I dragged my hand across my arm I felt coarse hair instead of skin. I looked down and saw that my skin was already covered with fur. It seemed that where my arm had been scratched was where it began.
Tea Carey: “Uh hu.”
She hummed as if I was an experiment she was studying.
Ripley Forster: “Care to clue me in?”
I asked sarcastically.
Tea Carey: “Yeah you are definitely instinct driven. You are nervous and your body is preparing itself to shift.”
Ripley Foster: “So how is this exactly helping me control the wolf?”
Tea Carey: “By seeing just how hair triggered you are. Can’t risk you suddenly turning into a seven foot tall wolf, in the middle of the day, in central Douglas.”
She said emphasizing all the negative things that uncontrolled transformation could bring.
Ripley Foster: “Alright so how do I control it?”
Tea Carey:” First you need to focus on the change.”
Tea Carey: “Do you remember what the first change felt like.”
Ripley Foster: “I felt feverish and hot. And all my other senses then got a lot stronger almost as if everything was broadcasted.”
Tea Carey: “Good now, try recalling the way it felt.”
Tea Carey: “Make your blood pump faster, and open up your senses.”
Ripley Foster: “Alright…”
Ripley foster: ‘My blood needs to go…”(timed choice)
· Faster (correct)
· Slower
· Stay the same
I feel my body heat up, the scraps of the clothes I am still wearing made it feel unbearable. (Correct choice)
Ripley Foster:’Alright next was the senses’ (Times choice)
· Focus on Tea
· Open up (correct)
· Loose control
I suddenly began to hear something, I could hear the sound of hooves hitting the ground, and I could smell sap from a tree a good 50 feet from me. (Correct)
Then I felt how hair began to grow, my muscles ached as I felt the growth pain began. I couldn’t stop now. (Correct)
There is only one thing to do
(Transform)
With a great howl I feel the release I felt last night. Tea looked generally impressed by my change.
Tea Carey: Succeeding on the first try, well done.”
(‘Metamorphosis’ you succeeded to change at will on the first try.)
With a struggler I tried to get my body to respond, but something was wrong, it wasn’t like how it had been during my first transformation. The change took far longer and the feeling of muscles changing and the cramp like pain that shot through my system. But in the end the form I desired was finally there. (Picked the wrong choice)
(‘Try and try again’ took a while but you managed to change)
When Tea changed it happened within a span of a minute tops. Her body now covered in raven black fur, she was bulkier and taller but there was still something graceful about how she moved.
She dropped down on all fours and I mimicked her, she then began to move. Now moving like a wolf. Her transformation allowing her to move more like a real animal.
Tea took of beginning to run. I took after her. Once again I felt the rush. The wind roaring as we ran through the forest. I could hear the hooting of owls that haven’t gone to sleep as well as the morning birds that just began their song.
We ran along the Swiftcurrent pass trail I had studied maps before coming to the park and the trail we were following were well walked so it was easy to see.
Ripley Foster: ‘I will run…’
1. Behind Tea
2. Next to Tea ❤
3. Ahead of Tea
Despite my knowledge I kept running behind the she wolf, as she guided me along the path. I took in the sound and smells of the forest. Trying to imprint them in my memory. I wanted to remember every little thing. So if this was a dream, I would remember it. *Choice 1\*
I made my way so that we were running side by side. Tea’s brown eyes glancing at me, this moment it was just me, her and the forest. To have someone to share this experience with, to have a teacher. I think I will always be in debt to her. *Choice 2\*
With burst of speed I pulled ahead of Tea. With a bark of unadulterated joy I forced my body to move faster. I wanted to feel it, I wanted the rush of adrenaline, this feral, wild side that I had always had, but never been let out until now. *Choice 3\*
Suddenly Tea broke off from the trail and began to run into the green forest. I took after her. Surprise we weren’t making way to the peak. As I followed her she then stopped at a ledge by the forest edge, she turned her face to see that I was coming.
She wanted to show me something.
Tea Carey: “This is what I love about this place.”
She said looking out towards the rising sun and the place the Swiftcurrent pack resided hidden as at last the campfire was snuffed out. And I could even see the Many Glacier Hotel in the distant. The beauty of the way the sky reflected in the water and how impressive everything felt.
In that moment, I felt like I had a responsibility to keep this haven safe.
I looked at Tea. Even in her werewolf state one could make out the pleased look on her face.
There was a softness in this moment. She was happy, genuinely happy. She closed her eyes as she breathed in the morning air. I felt almost guilty witnessing this moment, it was so personal and I didn’t know Tea well enough to feel that I deserved to witness this intimate scene.
Tea Carey: “Do you smell that?”
She asked her voice still dreamy.
Tea Carey: “This is freedom.”
In those few moments Tea Carey had laid her soul bare for a stranger. She had let me see her version of freedom.
Ripley Foster: “It’s beautiful.”
Tea Carey: “It is also everything that is worth protecting.”
She said before she shifted back to her serious tone.
Tea Carey: “We better get back down.”
Ripley Foster: “Hey Tea.”
At that she stopped and turned her head.
Ripley Foster: “Thank you, for this.”
Tea gave a nod, not saying anything else as we made our way back down the mountain.”
(‘The swiftcurrent kingdome’ Tea gave you a tour in wolf form.)
None diamond choice:
Ripley Foster: “My first transformation happened just last night and I am still trying to wrap my head around everything that has happened.”
Ripley Foster: “I think it is better that we wait.”
Tea Carey: “Alright, I can show you the good stuff another time.”
She said shrugging it off.
Even if she didn’t say it there was some disappointment in her voice.
____
Much to my surprise I found myself in front of a wooden house, it was not what I had expected.
Tea Carey: “Come on we better get you something to change into.”
She said leading me to some sort of store.
CALL OF THE WILD
The sign had a silhouette of a wolf head.
Ripley Foster:’ What are we doing here.’
I tried to think what could possibly be here. It seemed to be some sort of outdoor store, for hunters, backpackers and other types of outdoor activities.
Wouldn’t it be better if I just borrowed something from someone?
Ripley Foster: ‘Then again most of them don’t trust me.”
I quickly reminded myself. It would be unfair to assume that type of hospitality.
We walked inside and were met with two women one was in her 50’s with salt and pepper hair kept in two long pigtails. The braids ended about chest length, the woman looked warm and welcoming. Her face dusted with freckles and a pair of amber like eyes.
The other looked to be in her late 30s. Her skin was tan with luscious brown hair, brown eyes and she had a tired look in her eyes. It however changed when the younger woman’s eyes landed on me.
???: ”Tea what they heck happened?”
She exclaimed in chock. Not that I blamed her, I must have looked like I had a fight with a runaway lawnmower.
Tea Carey: “Calm yourself Boone, I did nothing. Just showing Ripley around.”
Older woman: “It is alright Elaine, there is no need to be scared. My mate informed me earlier that Tea would show MMiss Foster around.”
Ripley foster: “Wait doesn’t that mean.”
Ripley Foster: “your mate is…”
  1. Chase
  2. The werewolf from before
  3. Cedric (correct)
At the mention of Chase, the woman began to laugh. The kind that brought tears to your eyes from the intensity of it. *Choice 1*
Older woman: “Oh, ho, ho, that was a good laugh.” *Choice 1*
Tea Carey: “Honestly I can’t tell if you are being serious.” *Choice 1*
Older woman: “I’m sorry but I have no idea who you are talking about.” *Choice 2*
Ripley Foster: “Last night I was attacked by a werewolf that managed to climb through my window.” *Choice 2*
Ripley Foster: “That is how I ended up here.” *Choice 2*
Older woman: “Sweetheart if it had been my mate attacking you, I would be attacking you right this moment.” *Choice 2*
Her eyes suddenly began to glow menacingly, showing a clear warning. *Choice 2*
Older woman: “Mates and their bond are not to be trifled with.” *Choice 2*
Ripley Foster: “Duly noted.” *Choice 2*
I gulped in response, damn. *Choice 2*
???: “Sylvia is it nessecary to play with them?” *incorrect choice*
Older woman: “Yes, I knew you looked clever enough to figure it out.” *Choice 3*
Sylvia Grimm: “My name is Sylvia Grimm, it is a pleasure to meet you.” *Choice 3*
Ripley Foster: “It is a pleasure to meet you.” *Choice 3*
Sylvia Grimm: “May I introduce Elaine Boone. One of the best potion makers you have ever seen.”
The woman, Elaine seemed to get flustered by the praise as she tried to shrug it off.
Elaine Boone: “Oh stop it.”
“Now then what can we do for you?”
Tea Carey: “We are in need of some goods, the premium stuff.”
With that said both women nodded and got up, one of the walls began to move as a completely different compartment opened up.
Ripley Foster: “Wow, it’s like a room of requirement.”
Sylvia Grimm: “That is a fair comparison. We get normal people here, they are a large income. But the real coins come from somewhere else. This is a well-kept secret.”
Sylvia said proudly of the object in the room.
Tea stepped inside and began to inspect something in a display case.
There was so much to see.
· Jar of smoke
· Antique roman vase
· Golden flower
· Multi-coloured stone
· Bejewelled Scarab
Ripley Foster: “Wow”
There on the table was flowerpots all of them had a note pasted on them.
‘Warning Shrieking Mandrake’
Ripley Foster: “No way.”
Ripley Foster: “The mandrakes really do scream?”
I sounded probably more excited than I had hoped because both women gave me a warm smile at that question.
“Yes they do. Thank fully those will not kill you. But you will not wake up for a few days.”
(In this story you will have the chance to learn more about the lore and culture surrounding the werewolves.)
Sylvia Grimm: “Would you like to learn?”
  1. Yes! (💎 15)
  2. Maybe we should focus on clothes.
Diamond option
Ripley Foster: “Show me, I want to know.”
Sylvia Grimm: “Right this way then.”
She said as she led me to a shelf filled with different plants, some dried some fresh and some having turned into dust.
So what would you like to know about?
1. The mandrakes
2. The purple and pink flower
3. The four clover
Ripley Foster: “What do you use the mandrakes for?” *Choice 1\*
Sylvia Foster: “It has a lot of uses. But more often than not we have seers using it to go into trance.” *Choice 1\*
Sylvia Foster: “The mandrake is highly toxic, but if prepared well and a measured doze is given the mind will blur between worlds.” *Choice 1\*
Elaine Boone: “There was also the case of the woman with insomnia.” *Choice 1\*
Elaine’s expression fell as if she remembered an embarrassing/inconvenient incident. *Choice 1\*
Ripley Foster: “What happened?” *Choice 1\*
Elaine: “We had a costumer wanting something that would help her sleep. She brought a wailing mandrake despite us advising her against it.” *Choice 1\*
Elaine Boone: “A few days later we hear on the news how an entire neighbourhood was cast into a coma.” *Choice 1\*
Elaine Boone: “She had pulled the mandrake when she was going to bed, the scream knocked her out as well as all her neighbours that lived in the apartment building.” *Choice 1\*
Elaine Boone: “Honestly I would hope my children have more sense than that.” *Choice 1\*
Elaine Boone: “We usually call it Tyrian Eros, but most people know it as Vescovi flower.” *Choice 2\*
Ripley Foster: So they make love potions off it.” *Choice 2\*
Elaine Boone: “More like lust potions, some of the Vescovi members were notorious… um… horndogs.” *Choice 2\*
I feel my cheeks heat up. Elaine wasn’t far behind. *Choice 2\*
Ripley Foster: “No further explanation needed. Please I regret asking.” *Choice 2\*
Sylvia laughed at our reaction. *Choice 2\*
Sylvia Grimm: “Oh please, I am sure you are past being embarrassed by the birds and the bees. Beside Elaine you have already two of your own.” *Choice 2\*
I looked at the collection of clovers in the case. They looked just like ordinary four clovers found on any field. *Choice 3\*
Sylvia Grimm: “Those are for luck amulets.” *Choice 3\*
Ripley Foster: “Isn’t that a very fickle thing to produce? Luck comes and goes.” *Choice 3\*
Sylvia Grimm: “Yes unfortunately, for all the good luck you get from using it. Once the Luck amulet is used up, the wearer will experience a stroke of bad luck.” *Choice 3\*
Ripley Foster: “Why?” *Choice 3\*
Sylvia Foster: “If everyone could always get what they wanted with no consequence the world would fall in disarray. Every action needs an opposite reaction.” *Choice 3\*
Sylvia’s face fell. *Choice 3\*
Sylvia Grimm: “I would say they are one of the most dangerous plants here. What ends up happening is that someone will become dependent on their ‘Good luck’ and pay heavy for a continued supply. Because if they were to face the consequences it would be so horrible death would sound sweet.” *Choice 3\*
Elaine Boone: “Worst part is, bad luck could be transferred to other members of the family. Say if I were to use it and die before all the luck was ‘repaid’ it would go either back or forward in the bloodline making either my children or parents pay it back.” *Choice 3\*
With that I took a big step away from the plants.
Ripley Foster: “How come you have so many different types of live plants why not just make concoctions and sell them?”
Elaine Foster: “Some potion requires fresh ingredients, it is also hard to determent how weak or strong a concoction needs to be.”
Elaine Boone: “Think of it as medicine, young children have often weaker or different medicine to an adult. Dosage also plays a part, is it for one or ten people.”
Sylvia Grimm: “As for why werewolves often have monopoly over this trade. We are one of the few creatures that are willing to produce and sell.”
Ripley Foster: “Is there any other creature that works with this?”
Sylvia Grimm “Honestly speaking we have nothing on the nymphs. They could do stuff ten times more effective than us.”
Ripley Foster: “But?”
Sylvia’s face fell.
Sylvia Grimm: “Most nymphs are suspicious of people, there has been a lot of bad blood between them and other creatures. They therefor tend to stay in their forests.”
Sylvia then shook her head.
Sylvia Grimm: “I believe that will do for your first lesson.”
Ripley Foster: “Thank you I really appreciate it.”
The older woman smiled and you had a feeling Elaine did so too.
(‘Spice and Wolf’ Sylvia told you about the magical plants.)
None diamond option
Ripley Foster: “I wouldn’t want to impose. Let’s focus on finding some clothes.”
Sylvia Grimm: “If you say so.”
(‘No green thumbs’ you turned Sylvia’s offer down.)
Sylvia and Elaine led you to the rack of clothes until the two of them finally presented two sets of clothes for you.
Elaine Boone: “This would do nicely, durable and magically enhanced.”
Ripley Foster: “So wait none of these clothes will tear when I transform?”
Sylvia Grimm: “That is the point sweetheart.”
Sylvia Grimm: “If we didn’t have clothes like this, all werewolves would have to buy a new wardrobe every month, or streak around naked in the forest when they plan to transform.”
Elaine Boone: “Could you imagine just how much gossip it would cause?”
Elaine Boone: “Not to mention how embarrassing it would be.”
Ripley Foster: “Alright let me have a look.”
So what do you chose?
· Survival expert (25 💎)
· Back to basics
You look in the mirror, feeling much better to be back in proper clothes.
Ripley Foster: “I’ll think I take this one.”
Tea Carey: “Fair enough.”
She said as she turned her attention back to the display before coming back with something cupped in her hand.
Tea Carey: “Here. You’ll need this.”
She said holding up a necklace with a torques stone.
Ripley Foster: “What is it?”
Tea Carey: “It’s a glamoured necklace, it does more than just looking pretty.”
Ripley Foster: “Glamour? Isn’t that something leprechauns make?”
Tea Carey: “They and many more, as a way to keep our world a secret we shroud it in shadow and glamour.”
Tea Carey: “Humans have to wear glamour to see us, but we also wear glamour to hide from them.”
Ripley Foster: “So what exactly is this thing going to do?”
Tea Carey: “It will allow you to move freely during the day. How do you think I can patrol the borders during broad daylight?”
Ripley Foster: “So what will they see instead?”
Tea Carey: “Something they can comprehend, a normal wolf.”
Tea Carey: “However do try to avoid getting in close proximity to normal humans. It will cause a visual illusion it will however not shrink you down to size. So if they try to pet you when you are standing up, they would be petting your thigh or air. The less the illusion is questioned the stronger it is.”
We made our way to the register.
On instinct I slipped my hand to my pants pocket forgetting that I had no wallet or money to pay with. Heck I didn’t even have keys to my cabin. I had left in a hurry during the attack.
Ripley Foster: “Wait I don’t have any money.”
Silvia Grimm: “That is alright, you can pay us back when you get your pay check.”
Ripley Foster: “Really?”
Silvia Grimm: “Of course we know where you live after all.”
As we exit the building I look up and notice something, a ball that was of sand and black colour was tumbling down the hillside. As it got closer it became apparent that it had limbs. And a tail and a snout. The werewolf was tumbling down the hill at great speed and only missed by a few feet or so.
When said werewolf wheel crashed into the side of the shop. A happy shriek and a muffled ‘oomph’ was the only thing heard.
The werewolf untangled itself reviling that it had a boy with him. The kid looked to be around nine, tanned skin, dark brown hair and green eyes.
Kid: ”LET’S DO THAT AGAIN!”
You heard movement coming from behind you, no doubt the collision had been heard inside the shop as well both women came storming out to inspect the ruckus.
Elaine Boone: “HOWARD PATRICK BOONE. WHAT HAVE I TOLD YOU!?”
The fury in Elaine’s voice was apparent. Not that I blame her, it was a miracle they didn’t hit a tree on their way down.
As the woman scolded what I assumed was her son I took notice of the new werewolf percent. It was not as bulky as my or any of the other wolves I had seen. It had sand coloured fur everywhere except for its back and part of its head which were black, but unlike any other werewolf I had run into its eyes where different, one was a brilliant forest green the other a turquoise blue. Despite Elaine giving both a good scolding the werewolf looked as happy as could be. Tongue even lolling at the front of his mouth.
That was until the werewolf finally shifted back. Reviling a young man Caucasian male, sand coloured hair with darker roots, with a big dimpled smile and the same heterochromia eyes as the wolf that had been their earlier. He was dressed in baggy clothing, a windbreaker with a wolf patch sown into it, around his neck was a simple leather string necklace with a stone that had a hole in it.
I turned to Tea hoping to have the entire debacle explained.
Tea Carey: “May I introduce Howie, one of the packs pups and general handful.”
Howie Boone: “HEY!”
The boy exclaimed offended.
Tea Carey: “And the Golden reviver that looks like a German shepherd is Hoyt.”
Golden reviver: ”Can’t I get a better introduction than that T?”
The young man pouted, he then turned his attention to me.
With an exaggerated bow he introduced himself.
Hoyt Salo:“The name is Hoyt Salo, Omega of the Swiftcurrent pack, at your service my lady/lord.”
I let out an amused huff. This guy was something else alright. Very different respond in comparison to Chase.
Ripely Foster:
  1. Return his bow
  2. State your name
  3. Joke and flirt
Ripley Foster: “It is a great pleasure to meet you Sir Hoyt, the name is Ripley Foster of Miami.” *Chioice 1*
I said as I returned his bow in the same exaggerated manner. *Chioice 1*
Hoyt’s eyes lit up hearing that.
Hoyt Salo: “Then I hope I can be of assistant, for someone that has travelled from such great distance.”
Tea Carey: “Please don’t encourage him.” *Choice 1*
She said in a tired voice. *Choice 1*
Ripley Foster: “Ripley Foster, new park Ranger.” *Choice 2*
Hoyt Salo: “Great! We have another nature lover, YES!” *Choice 2*
Hoyt stated in triumpth. *Choice 2*
Tea Carey: “Most of us are nature folk Hoyt.” *Choice 2*
Hoyt Salo: “Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t celebrate it.” *Choice 2*
Ripley Foster: “Do you always bow to a new face?” *Choice 3*
Hoyt Salo: “Only when they are as pretty as you.” *Choice 3*
He said raising his eyebrows in a suggesting manner. *Choice 3*
Ripley Foster: “Are all Omegas sutch flirts?” *Choice 3*
Hoyt Salo: “I like to think I am a special case.” *Choice 3*
Ripley Foster: “In that case, call me Ripley, honey.”
Howie Boone: “Ugh.” *Choice 3*
The poor boy exclaimed in a disgusted grimace. *Choice 3*
Tea Carey: “For once I agree. Bleeh.” *Choice 3*
Tea stated in the same deadpanned tone she often spoke in. *Choice 3*
Tea Carey: “Trust me he’ll/she’ll remember your name, it is the first thing anyone shouts when something blows up in their face.”
Hoyt Salo: “At least now he/she knows my pretty face.”
Hoyt said in an exaggerated manner batting his eyelashes.
Tea rolls her eyes at that gently shoves him as he giggles at her reaction.
“Go on get going, you have the rest of the litter to drop off at school.”
Tea said nodding towards the top of the hill. As I looked up I noticed at least a dozen kids, none of them older than pre-teens looking at the situation as it unfolded.
At that Elaine turned her attention to the other children and began yelling. Both Howie and Hoyt took this opportunity to race up the slope, both of them flashing a mischievous grins.
All the children and Hoyt retreated quickly thereafter.
Tea Carey: “Come on we better get you back to your post before Collins organize a search party.”
She said pulling at the back of my clothes indicating we need to leave.
Ripley Foster: “It was great meeting you all.”
Sylvia Grimm: “Do take care of yourself now. I hope the next time we meet it is during different circumstances.”
Ripley Foster: “I hope so too.”
I said as I made my way to the motorcycle that Tea stood by.
Without a word I tossed me a helmet.
(Helmet)
(Catch)
I didn’t take a genius to figure out that this was hers.
With her already positioned on the bike I took the seat behind her.
Tea Carey: “Hold on tight.”
Was the only warning she said before the bike roared to life.
I grabbed onto her middle tightly, as the wind began to pick up.
As the forest around me kept flying past. It was hard to comprehend all that had change from just one day.
The world that I knew didn’t make sense here. But this brand new world even filled with danger was everything I could wish for.
Yet why did I feel so guilty?
As Tea pulled up to my station near McDonald lake, there were already thee cars all of them having sirens on and the surrounding area draped in police tape.
This was not good.

More Playground - a - fixin

Thanks to some help here, I was able to paint the rough playground that came with my house. Solid as a rock. but ugly and peeling paint and lots of splinters.
Went from this:

To This after a surprisingly long couple days(still needs a little more touching up):

Onto the next issue. The roof.
It's got wood shake(I believe it's called). and mostly sound except or a couple of pieces missing, and the inside seems to stay dry other than in the area under the holes. a lot of staples have worked their way up. I really don't want to rip it out because other than the holes it's fine. HOw do I patch the holes? Can i nail down some new shingles, nail down the staples that worked their way up and call it good? should I use any kind of caulk in there to improve waterproofing?
My buddy has some leftover wood siding shingles he offered me. Can I use those on the roof? I would love to continue doing this on the cheap(Paint was a mis mix at the paint store at $5/gallon)
How else can i patch the shingles without breaking the bank (60$ for a bundle of shingles at HD is steep when I only need a couple) can i just chop up my own out of a ceder plank or something?
Thanks everyone! My daughter is very excited

Edit: as an add... can I run my RO sander over the existing tiles to clean them up? or will that look like crud? better options?

Normally, I would give a Jehovah’s Witness a quick “No, thank you,” and an equally quick closing of my door. Now, my reaction would be, “ Get the fuck away, you goddamn plague bearer.” Now is not the best time for door-to-door proselytizing.

Oh no! I'm so sad! I've always wanted to be in a brainwashed, child molesting, shunning cult who thinks everyone who is not a Jehovah's witness will die at Armageddon. They call themselves "true Christians" and everyone else who is not one of them is referred to as satan's tool and a "worldly person". If you don't know, now ya know ugh 🤢

They also don't help out local communities. They say they do by spreading the word, but they don't even have second hand stores or food banks. They don't reinvest in their communities. And yes, there are some that are calling this an "exciting time" because they see it as one of the signs Armageddon is coming. It's what they live for. There's nothing worse than a smug gloating face of a JW.

Yeah, my Dad’s side of the family is JW. My grandfather died because my family refused blood transfusions and surgery - my Dad was 28, the same age I am now. The entire family is split because of religion, and anything JW leaves a bad taste in my mouth. My vulnerable grandmother was converted by a door knocker in the 1950’s... since then, three generations of family are majority devout Jehovah. No working, dating, marrying, or mingling outside the faith allowed, so my family (Dad left long ago, married a secular woman) isn’t invited to anything or recognized at all. I recently met a few second cousins who have left the church in the past few years, and other than that, I only know my Mom’s side of the family.
TLDR; Jehovah’s Witnesses suck, it’s a real life cult if you do it right, and the cult ruined my family.
Also, sorry I went on a rant just then — I just rejoice in the thought of jehovahs not knocking on doors

No it hasn't, or at least not in Canada.
I've never actually had a Jehovah's Witness knock on my door since I have been at this address (nearly eight years), but a week ago I got a hand addressed envelope addressed to homeowner. Figuring it was one of the older neighbours reaching out because no social media connections, I opened it. Handwritten four page letter from someone identifying as my neighbour and a Jehovah's Witness, and enclosing a copy of--you know it--Watchtower Magazine.
I can't even be annoyed. That was some planning and execution involved to create basically junk mail.

No, no, use Disassociated instead.
Here's the difference:
**Disfellowshipped JWs were kicked out against their will**, often still believe that JWs have "The Truth" (yes, they capitalize it like that at times) and act like whipped puppies. They're often too willing to allow the other JWs to humiliate them and the JW elders to debase them, just to be able to talk to their JW family and friends again.
Disassociated JWs left of their own free will, often after seeing through the lies and double-talk of the JW leadership. They often become effective at exposing and deconstructing the illogical and fantastical JW teachings, and most JWs consider THEM to be apostates - and avoid them like the plague.

Two members of my house would be VERY receptive to this. They just wait for people they do not know to knock on the door then loudly let the rest of the house know someone has entered their territory. Not sure how the JWs would like a greeting by two German Shepherds though.

I hope you one day have the courage to ask yourself why you cannot read any Bible on your own and ask non JW's questions. If your faith will not stand up to challenges, maybe it's not something you want to bet your life on. I mean this only in the best way.

My mother is a JW, in her 80's, and in desperate need of a blood transfusion because of a serious heart condition. She refuses because there was a time in her life where she was not very devout and if she dies because of her refusal, she hopes it will help her gain her salvation. So sad and nothing the rest of the family can do.

They're strongly warned against "independent" thinking. This is an older article, but the message remains the same today:
https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1983047#h=23:0-26:811
[19] Yet there are some who point out that the organization has had to make adjustments before, and so they argue: “This shows that we have to make up our own mind on what to believe.” This is independent thinking. Why is it so dangerous?
...
20 Such thinking is an evidence of pride. And the Bible says: “Pride is before a crash, and a haughty spirit before stumbling.” (Proverbs 16:18) If we get to thinking that we know better than the organization, we should ask ourselves: “Where did we learn Bible truth in the first place?
21 When we consider the mighty spirit forces who are fighting against us, we must acknowledge that on our own we could not possibly win. Yet with God’s backing, and with the help and support of his organization—our worldwide association of brothers—we cannot lose. (Psalm 118:6-12; 1 Peter 5:9) However, we must never forget that we are in a spiritual war, and that wartime is no time to be relaxing, enjoying only leisure and the pleasures of life. Rather, it is the time for vigorous training, alertness and self-sacrifice. The enemy has been able to get some from among us to relax their guard, and these have become battle casualties. May this never happen to us! It will not if we keep on “the complete suit of armor from God” and “stand firm against the [crafty acts] of the Devil.”
All of that is fussing against "independent" thinking...

I am an exjw. No. that must be your grandparents only. Goodness! being an antivaxxer plus jw is a bit too much. Jws were against vaccination between 1921-1952 and then changed (as they change so many of their doctrines) so perhaps your grandparents are still holding on to the past teachings. They were also against organ transplants in the past.
For a good summary of Jws past truly cringe worthy medical advice, here is a useful link :

It's an interesting problem from a strategical point of view. Other industries are trying to compensate. Restaurants push take-out, for example.
Do the Jehovah's Witnesses ever proselytize online? They could lurk in threads full of people apparently seeking spiritual guidance and susceptible to woo and start messaging people who sounded like potential converts.

The JW go door to door trying to shove their beliefs down others throats. Contrary to common belief they are not actually Christians as they dont believe that christ's sacrifice is enough nor do they believe he is the son of god.
They also somehow believe that the 14400 christ following Jews mentioned are them, leaving out the part about that the 14400 are jews, and that only 14400 will get paradise.
They also will shun family and friends that leave JW. A dear friend of mine took his life after his parents refused to speak to him or even permit him at the dinner table. JW has hurt so many people and are a lot like Mormons, a vile cult.

Get royally fucked Jehovah's Witnesses. My best friend in high school killed himself because his dad found out that he masturbated and reported it to the church, who shamed him to the point of not wanting to live anymore. Jehovah's Witnesses are quite literally Satan pretending to be like Jesus.

PRO TIP: The magic word for Jehovah's Witnesses is disfellowshipped.
Tell a JW you've been disfellowshipped (their code word for being kicked out of JW), and he'll give you a look of surprise, disgust, and fear - and you'll never see him again.

If you see a jehovah's witness doing that online, ignore them. They're actually told not to do so. At the moment they just hold online church gatherings with members only, if they're following the stay at home orders. Cant help if there are idiots that never read that God wont save you from stupid decisions like ignoring stay at home orders.

Former exjw reporting in. should be tagged *good news* as far as I'm concerned!
And yes, for those of you wondering, it's as crappy as it sounds. The Pew reserach center confirms that JWs (of all religions in the US, including evangelicals):
  • Have the lowest % of post secondary education
  • Highest % of religious attendance, prayers and bible study outside of services.
  • Have the highest consistency of belief that their religion can only be interpreted one way.
  • Have the highest opposition to homosexuality and access to abortion
  • Have the highest consistency of beliefs that their religion is the only one that leads to salvation.

My elderly parents are in lockdown at my place and my Dad is a JW. They were doing some sort of virtual meetings on the internet since day one. It was weird seeing him sitting in front of his computer dressed in his sunday best.
"You know it's just a live stream, so they can't see you Dad..."
"God can"
"Oh... right... carry on then"
