Social Credit System Wikipedia Page

The Social Credit System in China is getting scary. I'm not politically literate, but from what I've seen the credit is a deciding factor of everyone's life there. They have people called "recorders" who are assigned by the government to keep track of their surrounding neighbors and their lives (basically every mundane good or bad deed deemable as such by the recorder).

When you delve into the significance of this its kinda f**ked up. Social Credit is kinda like credit score of your life, just way worse. You need perfect, and I mean perfect credit to do basic things like take out loans and ride public transport. You cant even book a flight to leave without proper credit. If you do something scummy your punished. Everyone around you knows that you did something scummy because Social Credit is used for literally everything. I'm not totally against social conditioning because in some forms, it's healthy to be pressured into being a model citizen. Hold on to your hat because i'm venturing into a hypothetical here. Say your neighbor who hates you says you did something scummy. It doesn't matter if you know he's lying; As long as the "recorder" trusts him more than you, your powerless.

Could English Queen do anything about Alfie Evans in the justice system? wikipedia shows that there was such a possibility ...

EG The scope of the royal prerogative is difficult to determine due to the uncodified nature of the constitution. It is clear that the existence and extent of the power is a matter of the common law of England, making the courts the final arbiter of whether a particular type of prerogative exists or not. Nevertheless, certain prerogative powers have been widely acknowledged and accepted over time, while others have fallen out of use.

The school system consistently putting down the reputation of Wikipedia was probably one of the biggest impediments to modern education

It’s honestly so reliable and makes searching for knowledge so incredibly fun and interesting but it took me a while to get over the tainted image I had of it. If you think about it, Wikipedia is one of the most monumental contributions to the Internet, it’s a database of more/less all knowledge that is not on the direct verge of discovery.

How would you implement the [M4A](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minimum_wage_in_the_United_States) in your system?

I'm proposing that if you want a job, you should be paid a wage that is a "minimum wage for the working poor" in a country where the minimum wage is above the current minimum wage in the U.S. that is equal to the wage that a minimum-wage-paying job pays. I assume that means that a business owner who employs his own employees will still be able to pay his employees above the minimum wage, so long as he is legally allowed to do so.

How would you implement this policy in your system?

Yeah don't bother with SO. This kind of detailed, knowledgeable answer would probably get flagged for being too verbose and taken down in favor of a 2-sentence answer written by a UX designer that once read the Wikipedia article on this funny thing called "Systems Programming". [-11]

Does your country have a third rail political issue? If so what is it?

"The third rail of a nation's politics is a metaphor for any issue so controversial that it is "charged" and "untouchable" to the extent that any politician or public official who dares to broach the subject will invariably suffer politically. The metaphor comes from the high-voltage third rail in some electric railway systems."

Formula to calculate direction and distance between two MGRS grids.

MGRS - Military grid system
wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_Grid_Reference_System
I am playing around with making an excel page and one of the features is getting distance and direction from one MGRS grid to another. Here's a page that does it https://wjholden.com/mgrs.html
I understand the actual zone and square would be difficult to calculate and would gladly settle to manage to get what I want from just grids.

For example 12001200 to 12501250 gets Grid Azimuth = 45 degrees. Distance = 707 meters.
I appreciate anyone to shed light on the subject.

LPT: How to get full dark mode in Chrome (including the white background from search results, Wikipedia etc.) that follows the light/dark system theme schedule

  1. Open chrome://flags in the Chrome app
  2. Search for the "Darken websites checkbox in themes setting" flag and enable it
  3. Relaunch Chrome
  4. Go to settings in chrome and select "Themes"
  5. There will be an option to "Darken websites" when you choose System default. Enable "Darken websites"
  6. Enjoy a more complete dark mode experience in Chrome
This works really well on my 4XL running the latest May security update.

ProtonVPN utilizes OpenVPN (UDP/TCP) and the IKEv2 protocol, with AES-256 encryption. The company has a strict no-logging policy for user connection data, and also prevents DNS and Web-RTC leaks from exposing users' true IP addresses. ProtonVPN also includes Tor access support and a kill switch to shut off Internet access in the event of a lost VPN connection.
In January 2020, ProtonVPN became the first VPN provider to release its source code on all platforms and conduct an independent security audit. ProtonVPN is the only VPN to do so, even though experts say this is a crucial factor in deciding whether to trust a VPN service. Wikipedia

vim-wikipedia-browser: a wikipedia-browsing plugin for vim (unix systems only)

I recently wrote a vim plugin for searching / reading wikipedia articles in a vim-buffer. It's one of my first vim-plugs so I'm sure there are a lot of things I could improve on (for one: it uses curl and jq so it sadly won't work on Windows), but so far I've enjoyed integrating it into my personal workflow. It's likely been done before (and done better), but if you think you might find it useful then feel free to give it a try! Any feedback is welcome: the feedback on my first vim-plug was very helpful and it made writing this one a little easier.
